The gay and lesbian community has come a very long way in terms of gaining proper, equal and significant representation in the entertainment industry, and one of this years shining example is the hit reality series, The Amazing Race.

Among the previous participants in the reality competition was the openly gay tandem of New York natives Tom and Terry, and the shows foremost lesbian competitor, Lauren Marococcio. Tom, a College Admissions Director and graduate of Columbia University, and Terry, a Special Events Director, first met at a singles event and decided to join the tenth season of the Amazing Race in the hopes of not only winning one million dollars, but also finishing the game as a stronger and tougher couple. Lauren, a Speech and Language Pathologist from Rhode Island, joined the competition with her father, Duke, after the truth about her sexuality surfaced and created a tear in their once very tight bond. Both father and daughter went into the game hoping that they could rebuild their relationship.

Indeed, The Amazing Race (among many other shows) has proven to be an integral factor in helping address homosexual issues, most especially with regard to human relationships. Having provided a venue for people like Tom, Terry and Lauren to shine despite what some of the public may have to say about their lifestyle is certainly commendable, and the Media Award nomination they received from the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) for is certainly well-deserved.

GLAAD is an organization that was created in 1985 in New York. In its official website, their mission is clearly stated as their dedication to "promoting and ensuring fair, accurate and inclusive representation of people and events in the media as a means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation." The organization decided to nominate The Amazing Race for having successfully and willingly actualized their mission statement.

Researchers from Canada have found that having a diet of red meat, organ meats, soft drink and bottled water increased the risk of getting prostate cancer. They compared the diets of 80 men with prostate cancer, and 334 healthy men, and the diet just described more than doubled the risk of developing prostate cancer.

So what prostate diet can reduce the risk of prostate cancer? Swedish researchers examined the diet of 1499 men with prostate cancer and 1130 men who were healthy, and they published their findings in the Cancer Causes and Control journal. They found that eating foods rich in phytoestrogens decreased the risk of prostate cancer.

Phytoestrogens are plant molecules that have a weak estrogenic effect. They are made converted in the intestines from plant precursors by bacteria as they digest food. They are taken up by the same parts of the body that process the hormone estrogen.

Interestingly, one of the treatments for prostate cancer by doctors involves using estrogens to reduce the level of testosterone in men with advanced prostate cancer. It does this indirectly, through its effect on the hypothalamus, as less luteinizing hormone releasing hormone is produced by the hypothalamus. This means not as much luteinizing hormone is released by the body, which suppresses the production of testosterone.

High doses of estrogens for men can lead to cardiovascular complications. But phytoestrogens obtained from diet, in less quantities than a drug, and with a milder effect to start with, should not pose a problem. And researchers don't yet know what exactly causes phytoestrogens to have such a protective effect, whether it is similar to that of the estrogen treatment for advanced prostate cancers. And they don't know which phytoestrogens are the most active.

So what phytoestrogen foods could you include in a diet for a healthy prostate? Soy beans and nuts are a good source. Soy and nuts contain a type of phytoestrogen called isoflavones, whilst berries and seeds contain lignans. Foods could include peanuts, sunflower seeds, peanuts, and berries.

The only possible concerns with soy is that a study in mice found that male mice that had a type of heart disease that people also have, suffered heart failure when fed a soy based diet. Whether this extrapolates to the human population is yet to be established. But it may be wise for those me who have this particular genetic heart condition, dilated cardiomyopathy, to be cautious about soy products in their diet.

But for other men, soy products could be good news. A meta analysis, which is a study of related studies, published in the International Journal of Cancer, found that diets high in soy lowered men's risk of prostate cancer by 30%.

Another important mineral to consider for men is zinc. Zinc is used by men's bodies to make some of the male hormones, and for general prostate health. A deficiency in zinc can lead to problems with the testicles, the prostate, and the health of the sperm. Foods that are great sources of zinc include seeds like pumpkin, sesame, and sunflower; nuts like almonds, brazil, cashews and walnuts; and foods like lettuce, oats and onions. Raw onion is particularly suggested by Paul Bedson, a natural therapist. He also suggests vegetable juice made of equal parts of beetroot, carrot, and cucumber in cases where the prostate gland is enlarged. Cranberry juice, a cup drunk three times a day, is also recommended in this case.

2. Listen to her without fixing and tell her whats important to you.
Take some time each day to listen and talk with her about whats important to both of you. If you dont, you run the risk of losing each other as the years pass. Keep yourself focused on her when she is talking and be willing to take a chance in telling her whats important to you.

3. Surprise her with small (or large) tokens of your love.
Any woman loves for her man to offer to do some small chore without her askinglike giving the kids a bath, putting them to bed, helping them with homework, taking out the garbage, washing the dishes, doing a load of laundry. You can also surprise her with a dinner out, just the two of you, or a date that you have made all of the arrangements.

Life is about shopping. We make choices as soon as we wake up. What to wear, where to go, decisions every where. Think of your environment as a boutique. It is open 24 hours all seven days. Make a list before you go shopping. What do you need? You might need some basic clothes. A pair of shoes and maybe a hat? Do you do your shopping just occasionally or regularly? Think about the shops you visit. Is it the same as everybody else is going to or is it special ones? Can you see yourself in your life as the way you do your shopping?

Do you make a list everyday? I mean the planning for the following day. It is vital for your business with a plan. If you fail to plan then you plan to fail. It is always a good quote. Do you shop at special places? That can be related to your business environment. Are you looking for customers and business peoples every where or do you search for any particular ones? We are trying to find the one in a million people so where are they? I believe they are not in public rooms. Good business people are like pearls in a shell. You have to pick an ocean to find one to five really good ones. I know a lot of people that just goes in to stores and make shopping as a random action show. Look at their lives it is almost the same. They walk around and hope everything will be better. Every new years eve they make a wish that everything will be better, make new commitments about loosing weight, quit smoking and make more money. They expect different results but do exactly the same every day until the next New Years Eve.

That is amazing. So think about your own life. Make a wishing list and a plan for today, tomorrow and the future. Be selective when you look for good people in to your business. Rather be working a long time for one good person than to involve half interested people all the time. Be in creative environments too. Where does good business people associates? Hang around there. Talk to them, make good relationships with them. Get to know them. Get to know what they eat, wear, talk about etc. Copy the behaviour of the one person you admire in business.

Read about that person too. How did he start? Does he have any particular skills you might have too? So where are you dong youre shopping? How do you do youre shopping? Do you shop by yourself or with others? How often do you go? Put together a scheme for your work. Make a plan and stick to it. Sooner then later you will make it. Remember everything you dream about you can achieve. It is all just a matter of time. Since we all have 24 hours why do not make the best of it. Make it today, tomorrow and always. The Vehicle Registration Marks Act recently became law ( 19th July 2007 ) , it was instigated by the CNDA ( Cherished Number Dealer Association ) and was presented by Richard Ottaway MP.It will change the way a vehicle registration number can be retained.

Previously , when a private number plate was taken off a car and put on retention using form V778/1 , the applicant would be the registered keeper who would become the Grantee on the V778 retention certificate.The Grantee was able to nominate a third party as Nominee but this person only had one right and that was to assign the number to a vehicle registered in his name.The Grantee was the only person who could extend the certificate, change the nominee or importantly request a duplicate from DVLA.This created a potential fraud situation whereby a retention number could be sold by the grantee who could then request a duplicate ( which supercedes the original ) and the buyer would lose the registration number.Similarly a buyer could pay the seller to put the reistration number on retention and never receive the V778 retention certificate.

Under the new Bill the applicant ( registered keeper ) will be able to nominate a third party to be the Grantee on the V778/1 thereby giving full rights to the buyer.Note that registration numbers already on retention will not be able to transferred in this way purely new applications for registrations still on vehicles. Nevertheless this greatly improves the security of the scheme and cuts out a possible fraud situation.

Members of the public wishing to sell their private number plate would now be best advised to keep it on their vehicle until a buyer is found so they can take advantage of this new legislation , especially if they think they may be selling to a cherished number dealer.
