How to Remove Dye From Hair

How to remove dye from hair which is designed to ... well, dye, change the color of, alter stuff. And it does it - very well.

Trouble comes when it gets on places you don't want it - like your face, or clothes, or carpet.

Or you decide that the color 'to die for' just did.

There are some commercial products to remove dye from hair, and a few home potions and processes.

Color Fix by Jheri Redding is designed to remove unwanted permant hair color, and controlled usage allows color correction to specific areas, either full or slight color corrections.

Loreal Color Zap gently washes away all permanent haircolor. Ideal for color correction, removal of dark shades, muddy, uneven results or color build up. Leaves hair ready for immediate re-coloring. Loreal Effasol Color Remover washes away permanent haircolor, leaving hair ready for recoloring. Can be used with water or developer.

Jerome Rusell's Punky Color Punk Off is an easy to use gel that will cleanse your skin from hair dye stains.

Roux Clean Touch is a gentle formula that removes haircolor from skin and scalp. Removes excess color from hair ends and assists in removing stains from clothing.

Home remedies include this one:

Hot Oil treatments, hairspray, shampooing and exposure to water will gradually fade hair dye.

To remove the last bit of residue or stain on the hair (or to get color out immediately) make up a small batch of bleach mixture and add it to 2 tablespoons or so of shampoo in a cup. Stir it up.

Shampoo your hair with this mixture, "kneading" the hair. Start at the roots and work your way down to the end, and then back up.

You should see the color disappear right before your eyes.

Black hair dye is a special case.

It's very hard to remove black hair dye from your hair completely, especially if it's permanent. Better to let it grow out and not bleach it. Bleaching with chemicals damages the hair it may make it so stretchy and thin that it comes out in your comb.

Likewise if black hair dye stains skin or fabric. The best way is to prevent it from staining in the first place by applying Vaseline around the hairline before dyeing.

If black hair dye stains fabric then using detergent and water quickly is a good idea - otherwise dry cleaning may be required.

Black hair dye stains can also be removed by rubbing cigarette ash over the stained skin, dipping milk in cotton balls and rubbing over the stained area, rubbing on WD-40 or even nail polish remover or hair spray.

Three Steps You Can Apply To Lose Weight The Easy Way

Losing weight is no easy task. In fact, it can be one of the most challenging thing that you can ever go through. Surprisingly enough though, it can also be extremely easy and rewarding. Losing weight can be easy when you simply know what to do and what to eat. There are many diets out there, but none of them teach you on how you can prepare your self to lose weight fast and effectively.

One important thing is motivation. You should have terrific motivation before you even attempt on losing weight. Several ways that you can do this is if you think of what your end result would be like. Take a picture of your progress as you lose weight. This will help you keep motivated and help your strive to lose that extra pound.

Another thing that you can do is learn about food. Foods made you over weight in the first place so study your problem and most importantly fix it. Learn what foods make you fat and what foods you should eat and in what quantity. Become familiar with the healthy foods and the not so healthy foods.

Goal setting is also an important step in losing weight. In order for you to know how must weight you want to lose you first need to set a desired amount of weight. However, you do no need to only set one goal you need to set multiple goals. Instead of only making one goal that you would like to achieve set multiple smaller goals. When you do this you will notice that you will not feel nearly as over whelmed and will strive more towards that smaller goal and think less about the end result.

Control your metabolism. When you want to start losing weight the last thing you want is to store more fat. In that case you need to control your metabolism and make it as high as possible. To do this is fairly simple. All you need to do is instead of eating two or three large meals a day, eat five or six small portioned meals. When you start doing this your metabolism will skyrocket and you will no longer be storing fat.

There you have it. Three simple steps that you can use towards your weight loss success. Once you start applying these techniques you will notice a big difference in your achievement and how effectively you will lose weight. You will be surprised on how easy it is and how these three simple steps let you live a healthier life.

Max Whitson began involved in learning about weight loss at the youthful age of 15. Now, Whitson is a weight loss guru and has helped hundreds of people lose weight safely and effectively.

How to Buy a Used Car

Spending a little time now may save you serious money later. Go to a reputable car repair shop and ask if you can bring the vehicle by for a look-over. While you're there, ask what cars they have to repair most often. Take heed. Also, ask what the inspection includes, how long it takes, and the price. Always get this information in writing - just to be safe.

Once the vehicle has been inspected, ask the mechanic for a written report with a cost estimate for all necessary repairs. Be sure the report includes the vehicle's make, model and VIN. Go over it with a fine-toothed comb and make sure you understand every item. If you decide to make an offer to the dealer after approving the inspection, you can use the estimated repair costs to negotiate the price of the vehicle.

Remember, private sellers generally are not covered by the Used Car Rule and don't have to use the Buyers Guide. However, you can use the Guide's list of an auto's major systems as a shopping tool. You also can ask the seller if you can have the vehicle inspected by your mechanic. If he/she says no... beware. No matter how nice the car appears, something fishy is going on.

Now, a private sale likely will be on an "as is" basis, unless your purchase agreement with the seller specifically states otherwise. If you have a written contract, the seller has to live up to the contract. The car also may be covered by a manufacturer's warranty or a separately purchased service contract. But that doesn't mean that the warranty and service contract are transferable. Plus, other limits or costs may apply. Before you buy the car, ask if it's still under warranty or service contract, and review that baby carefully.

Some states will require vehicle sellers to pass a vehicle inspection before a sale is made. That's not always the case, though. To find out what your state requires, contact your state Attorney General's office or a local consumer protection agency. Hey, it's just a phone call. And it could save you a real headache later!

Whether you end up buying a used car from a dealer, a co-worker, or a neighbor, follow these tips to learn as much as you can about the car:

Examine the car carefully yourself using an inspection checklist. You can find a checklist in many of the magazine articles, books and Internet sites that deal with buying a used car. My favorite book that I've used several times is How to Buy and Maintain a Used Car by Brad Crouch.

Once I bought a used car in August, and never thought to test the rear defroster. Guess what? Come November, I found out it didn't work. If you're shopping in the summer, don't forget to check the heater. And if it's cold as ice outside, still turn that air on full blast and make sure it works!

Ask for the car's maintenance record. If the owner doesn't have copies, contact the dealership or repair shop where most of the work was done. They may share their files with you. Talk to the previous owner, especially if the present owner is unfamiliar with the car's history. Have the car inspected by a mechanic you hire.

Bundt Cakes to the Rescue

While sitting at the bowling alley, a voice came over the intercom saying, Tonight we are hosting a raffle on a yummy yellow sheet cake for $1.00 a ticket. The proceeds will go to our youth bowling association. A yellow sheet cake, I thought? How often are you asked to bake a cake for a school auction, cake walks, parties or get-togethers? Bundt cakes makes excellent cakes for these events. They are pretty cakes, make for a great presentation and could bring in more money than a yellow sheet cake. Another benefit of bundt cakes is that they are easy to transport to your event. Below are some of my favorite bundt cake recipes:

BANANA PUDDING BUNDT CAKE

1 (18.25-ounce) box yellow cake mix
1 (3-ounce) package instant banana pudding mix
4 large eggs
1 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil
3/4 cup mashed banana
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped

Preheat oven to 350*F (175*C). Grease and flour bundt pan and set aside.

In large bowl combine cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, water, vegetable oil and banana. Beat with electric mixer for 2 minutes. Pour into prepared bundt pan.

Bake for 50 to 55 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool cake on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Remove cake and continue to cool on rack.

To Make Glaze: Beat together powdered sugar, milk and vanilla in a bowl until smooth and of a drizzling consistency. When cake is cooled, drizzle icing over cake. Sprinkle chopped nuts over icing, if desired.

CARIBBEAN CHRISTMAS RING

3 tablespoons vegetable shortening

3 large eggs
1 cup sour cream or plain nonfat yogurt
1 ripe banana, mashed 2 tablespoons orange liqueur (triple sec)

Orange Sugar Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar, shifted
2 tablespoons orange juice

Thoroughly grease a 10 to 12-cup microwave-safe bundt pan with shortening; sprinkle with 1/2 cup of the chopped walnuts to coat evenly. Sift flours, baking powder and baking soda.

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy; beat in eggs, one at a time. Stir sour cream or yogurt, banana and liqueur into egg mixture. Fold flour mixture into banana-egg batter; stir in remaining walnuts.

Spoon into prepared pan and place on top of microwave-proof bowl in microwave, bringing cake up to center of oven. Cook on medium 10 minutes, then on high 5 to 7 minutes until cake tests done, turning twice. Let cake stand 15 minutes. Turn out onto serving plate. Let cool.

Mix sifted powdered sugar and orange juice until smooth. Pour glaze evenly over cake and serve.

When You Build Your Audio Mix, Build a House!

Almost all engineers approach their mixes differently. I like to think of my mix, from the very first track all the way to the mastering stage, as a house.

The first thing you need when building a house is a good foundation. Your low end should provide you with this. It is on this foundation that the rest of your mix will be built. If your foundation is weak, your entire mix will be weak and ineffectual. Just like building a real house, your foundation needs to be solid. The primary instruments making up this low end, in most music we listen to today, are the kick drum and the bass guitar parts. These two instruments must gel, yet be clearly defined. If they are not clearly defined, meaning the listener cannot make out the difference between the two, you may experience some problems with your mix. Many home recordings suffer from the low and mid frequencies overlapping too much and therefore not being clearly defined.

Once we have our clearly defined low end, we need to begin building our house, brick by brick. The bricks we will be using to build our house will be made up of the mid frequencies. This area is much more tricky to clearly define because there is so much stuff going on in the mid range. Guitars, vocals, snare drums, toms, keyboards, plus a myriad of other sounds all compete for the same space in the mid range. If you have a non-clearly defined mid section, your mix will sound very muddy. This, again, is typical of home productions. The mid range is muddy and it tends to ruin the entire mix, your house.

So, how do we keep the low end from getting too muddy? Again, lets look at our house example. If you pay close attention to a brick house, youll notice that in between every fourth or fifth brick there will be a small hole. I once asked someone what these holes were for. His reply, They allow the house to breathe. That sounds weird to me. I am not a handy man, so I didnt understand and left it at that. What I do know is audio, and I know that our mix needs to breathe, especially in that tricky mid range. How do we allow our mixes to breathe in the mid range? Well, there are several tricks. First, we can use different mics on instruments, use different microphone placement, we can tune similar sounding instruments differently, we can set the instruments physically apart in the room to add a feeling of space, we can add reverb to add space virtually, and/or we can use equalization to separate tones of like sounding instruments.

As you can see, there are many things we can do, either singly or in combination one with another that can help us accomplish the task of creating a non-muddy, clearly defined, breathing mid section. You are well on your way to providing a much more enjoyable listening experience for you and your fans if you can make your mid section breathe.

The last part of our house is of course the top, or the roof. As you might expect, the roof will be made up of high-end tones, but this is really not the case in my opinion. The reason for this is that the high frequencies are usually just overtones and higher octaves of our root sounds which take place in the low and mid frequency sections. Most of the time if you have your low and mid sections eqed properly and they sound good, there is little eqing that you will need to do to the high end. Plus, much of the high end will be accentuated in the final process called mastering. So instead of frequencies to build our roof, or ceiling, I like to use dynamics.

Dynamics include compressors and limiters. Dynamic processors help keep your tracks as hot as they can be, which means as far away from the noise floor as possible, without distorting or clipping. This is especially important with all of the digital equipment we are now using because digital distortion sounds quite nasty.

Dynamics can provide a nice, round sound or can squash your tracks, whichever you prefer and whatever compliments your style of music. Improper use of compression will make the recording sound to confined, like walking into a room with a very low ceiling. Proper, judicious, use of compression, on the other hand, can make your recording feel like someone is walking into a room with an open, airy, cathedral type ceiling. You should feel much less confined and much more at awe when you enter the latter type of room, and listeners will much more appreciate you trying to give them this feeling of aural openness.

So there it is. When you build your audio mix, remember to build a house and your mixes should be much more professional.

Discover the 5 Essential Rules of Food Combining

Standard diets contain numerous recommendations regarding healthy nutrition. They classify foods, herbs, spices and beverages as good or bad for everybody.

(Un)fortunately, we are all unique and different. Every person has their own metabolic type, blood type, sensitivities and most of us at least some health issues. We live in different climate and environmental conditions and each of us has a very unique collection of inherited (or mutated) genes.

All these factors and several others determine:

  • Which foods are good for us and which are not;
  • which ingredients from the food intake our body can digest and utilize and
  • which of the ingredients get stored somewhere in the body because they cant be processed or eliminated. These excess substances may start causing health problems after they build-up to a certain level and because we keep adding them.

The ability to hear what our body is telling us is the best way (above all!) to follow in order to treat this earthly vehicle in a form of physical body the best we can. However, with all the distractions that the modern society is screaming at us, we experience many moments when its difficult to hear or feel the signals that come from within us.

Therefore, adopting the following five rules of food combining can be a tremendous help to our digestive system. All the bodily processes may run smoother without incompatible foods. At the same time, only the foods that complement each other can be properly processed or eliminated from the body.

  1. Fruits or variety of fruits are best eaten alone (in the morning or a few hours after other foods) because they are easier and faster digested than other foods. When eaten with or on top of other foods, fruits begin a fermentation process in the stomach (due to delayed stomach juices) which enables gas to go through the intestines. The only exception to this rule seems to be citrus fruits, eaten with nuts.
  2. Proteins are best combined with vegetables.
  3. Starches are best combined with vegetables.
  4. Whenever possible, avoid combining protein (like meat, milk and milk products) with starches (like potatoes, pasta, rice and breads). For digestion, proteins require an acid digestive medium and starches are digested in alkaline one. Eaten together (proteins and starches), they interfere with each others utilization. Digestion of a meal that includes both (proteins and starches) is not efficient, takes much longer and may lead to poor utilizing of nutrients, indigestion, gas, abdominal discomfort and bloating.
  5. One protein per meal is enough; different protein foods consumed during one meal can easily mean an excessive intake of fats or protein.
The five rules above alone can aid loosing excess weight and health in general. Of course they mean that there will be no more common meals like sandwiches (lunch meat, cheese and bread), meat with potatoes or fish with pasta and so on.

For most people these rules might seem completely unacceptable or too hard to carry out. But if you are one of those whose heart resonated with the message of this article, give food combining a try for thirty days - and see how that makes you feel.

Major Types Of Name Tags

If you are a manager or state worker or just a person who needs to be known and popular or a public service employee you are definitely wearing a badge whether this is a public event or an every-day routine. What is a badge, anyway? Is it always of the same size, form and material?

A badge or Identity Document Card (ID card) is a piece of identification a document designed to verify aspects of a person's identity. Such an ID card can contain various kinds of information about the person: his/her age, name, surname, occupation, nationality and other details. Anyway, such cards can substitute passports, social security cards (not always, though) but this varies from country to country. But an original badge often contains minimum information about the holder name, surname and post. Such cards are inserted into a plastic rectangular transparent containers and are worn on the chest. Name badges can always help you to get access to services or arrangements without the necessity to show your primary identity document. To lose it does not mean to lose your passport the renewal is much easier.

There are 5 major types of badges that are becoming more and more popular nowadays:
1)Simple Name Tag (no logo);
2)Laser Engraved Name Badges;
3)Screen Printed Name Badges;
4)Digitally Printed Name Tags;
5)Metal Name Badges.

No wonder that simple Name Tags with no logo are a very economical way to get your name in front of your customers fast. They are the most conventional way to attract attention. As for Laser Engraved Name Badges they are more exclusive and expressive. The quality of these name tags is flawless and will undoubtedly catch the eyes of your customers. Screen Printed Name Badges present a very effective method to deploy name tags due to the crisp, bold color that is able to be produced. Name badges printed digitally are great for logos with a lot of color on them that would not work with screen printing. Premier Metal Name Badges always stand out of the crowd due to their ability to appear effectively and to be great for the corporate tie and real estate environment.

Moreover, there are also such items that can help your name or your business logo be wide-known almost everywhere because they can be hanged on every metallic surface.

Mike Zhmudikov is a professional copywriter and seo consultant. Such magnetic business cards are an ideal way to establish your brand, to make people aware of it and remember it for a long time.
