Relationship commitment. A lifelong goal for some, and others, a thought that puts shivers down their spine. While many would love to settle down and grow closer to someone over a period of years, the thrill of the chase is much more satisfying for everyone else.

Growing up, meeting someone, and getting married is a natural progression for most of the population. Albeit a dwindling past time now in the twenty first century. Marriage is becoming less popular while divorce rates increase periodically. Looking for Mr or Mrs right, finding them, and settling down, and bring up a family is a fantastically rewarding experience.

Meeting the right person is a must for this to be a lifelong enjoyable experience. Does the person want the same things out of life, and will they be willing to go that extra mile to get them. Are they genuine in everything they say? Trust is a major factor in any relationship. When someone says I love you, they have to mean it. No relationship can be a long term happy affair if one of you doesnt mean this when they say it.

The relationship doesnt have to be based on a contract, you just need the spark to be sustained throughout. It has to stay as fresh as the first few weeks or months. If boredom has a chance of setting in, thats when the relationship can break down. Keep the romance alive, continue to do the things that you do in the early days of your relationship. Leave little notes for your partner, and bring a gift when you arrive home from work.

If problems occur they have to be discussed as soon as possible. Letting something brew for a period of time will only magnify it. The sooner a problem is talked about the more chance you have of getting it resolved, then the relationship can continue.

It is spread from person to person. Oral herpes can be spread during kissing. Genital herpes is spread most often by vaginal sex and anal sex. But, it can be spread during oral sex as well. It is important to know, though, that herpes needs a living being to live off of. That means that you can not catch it from things others have touched.

Can You Prevent Genital Herpes?

So, if this many people can be carriers for the virus, how are you to protect yourself? This is no easy task but there are several things that you can do to help protect you from contracting genital herpes.

 Whenever you engage in sex of any type, make sure that you take precautions against all sexually transmitted diseases. The use of a condom can help to reduce the likelihood of contracting the virus. But, this too is not a sure prevention of herpes. It is only useful to protect against herpes that is shedding in which the condom prevents contact with those areas.

 The best way to prevent against contacting herpes is by not engaging in sexual acts whenever there are active sores on the genitals. Also, you should not engage in oral sex if either partner has the virus. Likewise, you should not allow anyone with oral herpes to give you oral sex either. The oral virus can become the genital herpes virus in this case.

 Unfortunately, even this can be only partial coverage. The fact is that the viruses that cause herpes are contagious even when there are no visible signs of it. In this case, the only thing that can be done is to abstain from contact.

The Symptoms And What To Do

Knowing what the symptoms of the virus are will help you to take care of the problem if you should have it.

 The most obvious sign of herpes is the sores that you will get. A cluster of small blisters that are fluid filled will form. They will then break and cause painful sores. These sores crust over and heal eventually. This process is likely to take several days for its full course.

 A rash or small bumps is also an indication of an infection.

 Painful urination can happen.

 A fluid discharge from the vagina is also a sign of infection.

 Flu like symptoms can be present when individuals first get the virus. Swollen lymph glands in the groin and a fever can accompany the flu like symptoms.

 Prior to an outbreak, individuals may experience itching, burning or pain running up and down the leg.

 Sometimes, there are no symptoms at all.

If you have any of these symptoms or fear that you may have been exposed to the herpes virus, you should seek medical attention. Tell your doctor your concerns. Antiviral drugs are often used to help those who have the virus. Unfortunately, there is no cure for the virus. Medications can make outbreaks less frequents and less painful, though. 1. Stop trying to get your husband/wife to stop drinking.

No matter how much you nag and complain at them to stop drinking, it is not going to do a bit of good. What will is taking care of you. I know, it sounds backwards, but when youre emotionally stressed out, it will be more difficult to help your loved one. You have no verbal power over the alcoholic. What you do have control over is your actions. What you do and say to the alcoholic will have a direct effect on whether or not they will continue drinking or not.

2. Detach with love.

Be loving and supportive of the person you married, not the alcoholic. Dont take any of the emotional garbage they dish out while drinking. Have you noticed how when your spouse drinks they start to berate you and want to start arguments? Dont argue or fight back. Let them know you will not argue with them while they are drinking, period.

Above all, never allow the alcoholic to trespass against your spirit when they are playing one of their mind games. Walk away and close the door behind you. Go visit a friend, take a walk around the block, or put some ear plugs in your ears. Your mental health is what helps the alcoholic the most. This is what detaching with love is all about. Detaching yourself from the disease is what helps the alcoholic see that he needs help.

3. Set boundaries

Did you know that the person who takes the verbal abuse of an alcoholic is sometimes just as mentally and emotionally sick as the alcoholic? This is why it is absolutely necessary, especially for spouses of alcoholics, to set boundaries for themselves while the alcoholic is drinking.

Dont allow their roller coaster emotions to affect you. At least do not let them see that they are affecting you. The alcoholic wants to get a reaction out of you, dont give them that satisfaction. When they are drinking, treat them like a stranger. Remember, you love the person you married, but you do not love the disease. Dont be nice to the disease but love the person. Do you understand?

4. Do not enable the alcoholic

Dont help the alcoholic by enabling their addictive behavior. Dont help them to bed. Dont let them drive while drinking. Do not let them argue, fuss or fight with you while they are drinking. Do not talk to them, leave the house or room and shut and lock the door behind you. Do not buy them alcohol, even if they beg you to. Dont let them drive! Dont treat them any differently because they have a drinking problem. Dont give them any special attention while they are drinking.

5. Be supportive when they are sober

When the alcoholic in your life is sober, give them extra special attention. Tell them how much you love them, but not the disease. Talk to them about your new boundaries when they are sober. Write them on the refrigerator so they cant say they forgot. Basically let them know all the bad and awful things they do to you and the rest of the family while they are drinking. They need to know.

6. Go to Alan-on

This is very important when you are living with an alcoholic. This is how you heal yourself from the abuses of the alcoholic. This is where you will meet friends who are going through the same things as you. You are not alone.

7. Pray everyday

Never relent in your silent appeals to God for your spouses sobriety. I cannot say enough how important it is to keep a well balanced mind, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually when living with an alcoholic. They can literally tear you apart. I encourage you to seek God for your comfort and encouragement during this difficult time in your life. God answers our incessant appeals for healing. He feels our suffering and pain. Please do not give up hope.
