"What's in a name? That which we call a rose By any other word would smell as sweet."

In this famous quote from Act II of Romeo and Juliet, Juliet tells Romeo that a name is an artificial and meaningless convention, and the fact he is a Montague and she a Capulet (warring families) means nothing to their love.

However, there is some strong evidence from the UK's Cranfield University - and elsewhere - that the name one gives a project does have a marked impact on the behaviour and motivation of the people involved. It may surprise you, but the name you give to your Intranet Project could well be the most important decision you make in the early stages of mobilisation!

The Direct Approach

There is an argument in faour of naming your Intranet Project the - wait for it - "Intranet Project"! Often, so-called "secret squirrel" names (where one has to ferret out from colleagues what Project Banana is all about) serve only to create an unnecessary air of mystique (fit only for secret M&A projects). They can also serve to be divisive, by separating 'people in the know' from people outside the immediate project audience.

The functional approach

A functional name focuses on what the intranet does (e.g. search, find, access). This enjoys the same benefits as the direct approach, but affords one a little more poetic license. What about names like "Project Connect" or "Project Gateway", which serve to signal the core "must have" requirements for the project?

The conceptual approach

There is a problem with the direct or functional approaches; Research from Cranfield has demonstrated that people on projects tend to be very heavily influenced in their actions by the name of the project itself. If you call your project the Intranet project, it is a working intranet (i.e. the technology) that you will get. If your ambition was something much more visionary, such as a wholly new way of working for your people, you are likely to be disappointed!

The conceptual name targets what is achieved by the functionality, rather than the functionality itself. For example, if your company name was BigCo and your purpose was seeking to get everyone in the company working together, you could call the project "Project OneBigCo" or "Project Unity". For the aforementioned new ways of working objective, you could use "Project Future Workplace".

The abstract approach

The abstract approach deals with how the project makes people feel. For example, "Project Bliss" (for happiness), "Project Wizard" (for magic) or "Project Pulse" (for fast-pacedness). Although one world usually fails to capture all you are trying to achieve with an Intranet Portal, this approach can prove highly effective (particularly where counter-cultural).

If all else fails

Nothing grabbed you so far? Well there is no saving you, then! I suppose there are always the standard fallback options: names of greek or roman gods, names of planets, names of birds and names of dances. These have the added value that - if you spawn follow-on projects in a sequence - you have ready-made logical follow-on project titles. Incidentally, "Project Mercury" would be my recommendation for planets or gods (as Mercury was the roman god of communications).

Did you steal him from his wife?
Situation:
You were involved in a clandestine relationship that made good. You dont have to use your special code to call him anymore and you can be with him on the holidays. He left his wife for you and has now made you an honest woman.

Chances are your relationship will be marred with insecurity and doubt. Youll know all of his lies before he even opens his mouth and how he hides his car five blocks away from where he is really visiting. Youll know everything about him, accept when he is really telling the truth.

Challenge:
Trust. How can you learn to trust each other when your relationship was weaved in the midst of lies. If you and him can find away to trust each other and not repeat the past, this will be the key to making your relationship work. You both should sit down together and list 10 reasons why you can trust each other.

You borrowed him from your best friend, but now hes yours.
Situation:
Your best friend confided to you that he was an excellent kisser and that she didnt know that her toes were orgasmic. She wasnt exactly faithful to him, so you rationalized that what she doesnt know wont hurt her. So you loaned him your body for one night, but he decided to play for keeps.

Challenge:
Will you be able to trust women in the future with your partner? You may have difficulty believing that he is faithful to you. Sometimes when we feel like we stole something it never feels like it really belongs to us. If your love is really true, learn to forgive yourself because what truly yours can not be taken.

You met him while he was incarcerated.
Situation:
Youve never met a free man who was so in touch with his feelings and able to express his deepest emotions. He mailed you pictures of his chiseled body and his poetic words swept you off your feet. He professed that he has learned his lesson and paid his debt to society. Hes a changed man who now wants to get married right away. No job, no money, no place to live, but he is adorable and madly in love with you. You patiently waited for his letters, but now youre looking forward to the real thing.

Challenge:
Slow down and give him an opportunity to find his two feet and then stand on them. What hes attracted to behind prison walls, may not look the same when there are more opportunities. He needs space and time to establish goals, a fresh identity and his place in the free world. Of course he wants to lean on you, he has nothing but faith in himself. Dont become his crutch. When he is able to stand alone, and if he is still interested, slowly move towards a stable relationship.

You fell in love in a substance abuse rehabilitation program
Situation:
Your eyes met during group therapy. You had never seen such a rugged, handsome man cry before. His sensitivity and honesty was breathtaking. You know you arent suppose to get involved with other residents, but this is different. Rules were meant to be broken. No one has ever understood you like him. So you allow yourself to fall in love with him.

Challenge:
Maintaining a drug-free life style is a major challenge by itself. Dealing with your demons can be overwhelming, but dealing with his and yours can land you both back into rehab. Dont trade in one addiction for another. Wait until you are emotionally stable before getting involved with someone for at least 9-12 months, some programs suggest more or less time.

You were his part-time undercover lover, who has been promoted to full-time.
Situation:
Booty-call and extracurricular sex are phrases that described your previous relationship. There was no schedule or commitment. When he called to see you and you werent busy you spent time together. Outside of the bedroom youre not really sure what he looks like or where he works or who his friends are or maybe even his last name. You met him at a club and the only thing you know for damn sure is that he sure knows how to make a girl feel good. But, lately hes been calling before 11 pm and he even held you after sex. Youve been wondering what brought about the sudden change in his behavior.

Challenge:
Whos feelings was he trying to protect while he kept his relationship with you on the down-low. Who held the full-time position before you; did he fire her did she quit. What were her qualifications and how long ago did she leave. Your concerns should be rather you can trust him or not in a committed relationship. Move slow and find out who he really is. Before your ninety days are up, call your old job and see who answers.

Carson Palmer was born on December 27, 1979 in Fresno, California. Although Palmer does not have the athleticism of some of the other great NFL quarterbacks, he has everything that he needs to succeed. This includes having a strong arm, great pocket presence, and being one of the smartest quarterbacks in the league.

Palmer played high school football at Santa Margarita Catholic High School. As a senior, colleges from all over the country took notice of him as he passed for 31 touchdowns and only four interceptions. When his high school career was over, Palmer held 27 school records.

After high school Palmer decided to play at the University of Southern California. During his freshman season in 1998, Palmer was named the starting quarterback in the ninth game of the season; a position that he would hold for the rest of his career.

Palmer had three up and down seasons for the Trojans, but things changed dramatically during his senior year. Under offensive coordinator Norm Chow, Palmer ended the season with 3,942 yards on 309 completions. This went along with 33 touchdowns and just 10 interceptions. To cap off his great senior season Palmer was awarded with the Heisman Trophy.

In the 2003 NFL Draft Palmer was selected with the first overall pick by the Cincinnati Bengals. After not touching the field during his rookie season, he was then thrust into the heat of the battle. In his first full season in 2004 Palmer passed for 2,897 yards. He followed this up with 3,836 yards in 2005, and a trip to the playoffs. Unfortunately, Palmer tore both the ACL and MCL in his left knee in a first round game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The 2006 season was Palmers first since the injury, and it did not appear to hold him back at all. He finished with 4,035 yards and 28 touchdowns. There is plenty more of this to come.

LITERARY LOVE

Sometimes the best love stories are about people who write stories. Its hard to go wrong with Shakespeare in Love (1998), in which the Bard of Avon (Joseph Fiennes) tries to figure out the plot of his new play Romeo and Ethel the Pirates Daughter while dallying with a lovely, young and completely stage-struck aristocrats daughter (Gwyneth Paltrow).

A more recent but oddly less modern writer, C.S. Lewis, is the unlikely hero of Shadowlands (1993). Bookish and withdrawn, Lewis (Anthony Hopkins) comes alive, when brassy American poet Joy Gresham (Debra Winger) bulls her way into his life.

MAGICAL LOVE

Love is magical, of course, but sometimes magic is love, too. Remember Tom Hanks and a mermaid in Splash (1984) or Christopher Reeve following Jane Seymour into the past in Somewhere in Time (1980)?

Perhaps the best-ever romantic fantasy is Ghost (1990), with a spectral Patrick Swayze clinging to existence out of love for Demi Moore. Both leads are at their best, and Whoopi Goldberg won an Oscar for her hilarious turn as a bogus psychic who starts seeing real dead people.

For a double feature, one also try Steven Spielbergs underrated Always (1989), with Richard Dreyfuss and Holly Hunter as a couple so perfect that one knows they cant last. Its Spielbergs most romantic work by a long shot, and Audrey Hepburn, in her last film, has a charming cameo.

MUSICAL LOVE

Thered be no musicals without love songs think of Gene Kelly dancing outside Debbie Reynolds window as the skies open in Singin in the Rain (1952) or Judy Garland singing "The Man That Got Away" in A Star Is Born (1954).

Start with the peerless Top Hat (1935), clever enough to be counted among the classic screwball comedies if it werent for the distraction of the dazzling Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers dances and Irving Berlins wonderful score.

Songs by everybody from Jule Styne to Lennon/McCartney and Madonna are heard in Moulin Rouge (2002), and director Baz Luhrmann makes it all work beautifully. Nicole Kidman is a knockout, Ewan McGregor proves to be a wonderful singer and Jim Broadbent bellows Like a Virgin as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

ON AND OFFSCREEN LOVE

Does it matter if on-screen lovers connect off-screen as well? Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman never really clicked on the big screen, after all, and Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger never set the world on fire.

But for a life-imitates-art double feature, one can try Adams Rib (1949) and To Have and Have Not (1944). In the former, longtime companions Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn do their patented comedy/drama blend, with a nice turn from Judy Holliday as the aggrieved wife whose case pits defense attorney Hepburn against prosecutor Tracy. In the latter Humphrey Bogart meets Lauren Bacall, and even after 60 years you can still see the sparks. Its not much like the Hemingway novel, but its a classic.

TEEN LOVE

The most iconic love story of them all, Romeo and Juliet, is the definitive teen romance.

10 Things I Hate About You (1999), however, draws on a different Shakespearian source. This clever reworking of The Taming of the Shrew features career-making performances from Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger in the lead roles, but the supporting cast especially Alison Janney, Larry Miller and Larisa Oleynik is equally good.

The little-known Dogfight (1991) makes a soberer matchup, with River Phoenix at a career peak as a young soldier who meets a gawky folk-music fan (Lili Taylor) in Vietnam-era San Francisco. He comes to mock her but stays to know her, and ultimately its one of the most achingly believable films ever made.

TIMELESS LOVE

Some say that young love is the only love? But one can easily come out of this thought, if one checks out Laurence Olivier and Katharine Hepburn in Love Among the Ruins (1975) the age gap between the two, is a bit too much, but they still make this tale of an aging actress and the barrister.

One can also add How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998), in which a 40-something executive (Angela Bassett) and a 20-something Caribbean stud (Taye Diggs) prove once and for all that age is only a number.

One of the most important aspects of a successful relationship is effective communication between both parties. Lack of communication in a relationship can result in hasty decisions that can even lead to separation. We need to understand the reasons behind communication breakdown and how they can be avoided to ensure a fulfilling relationship.

Sometimes stress of work makes a person withdrawn, reserved and easily irritated. They dont like to discuss anything with their partners. If your partner has to live somewhere else, make sure you two talk on a regular basis and never let distance come in the way of your love. Its true that these kinds of relationships are hard to manage but once you have a made a decision you have to stick with it no matter what happens or how physically distant you are.

Birth of the first baby is also sometimes a cause of communication lapse between the partners. The mother has to give more and ore time to the baby and the father has to spend more and more time in the office. As a result they get a chance to talk after a long pause and when that happens there are complaints and disagreements over trivial issues. Sometimes they argue over what the baby needs and how it should be handled and cared for. When things get out of control they stop their communication altogether and become withdrawn.

Reasons behind lack of communication vary from couple to couple, but the important thing is you shouldnt let these problems come in the way of your relationship. Always talk things out between yourselves before they get worse and never let lack of communication lead to misunderstandings and distrust in any relationship.

In America more than 1 million teenagers become pregnant every year which is highest than any western industrialized country. This is alarming as pregnancy in teens brings down the level of education and employment opportunities.

Another great risk attached with pregnancy is the spread of infection from the mother to the baby. The virus can be transmitted to her baby during pregnancy, labor, delivery and breastfeeding. It creates a lot of psychological problems for the child. Moreover if women go for abortions then too there is a risk for the women as complications arise due to unsafe abortions.

Education associated with pregnancies should be given in underdeveloped countries and especially to teenagers in both the developed and developing countries. Knowledge should be imparted on pregnancy complications so that the risk involved in it does not arise and cause harm to both the mother and the child.
