It is a harrowing time when a former partner files for divorce. In this easy to read article let me share a couple of helpful scriptures with you to help you in this time.

Proverbs 24:10 (New King James Version)

10 If you faint in the day of adversity,

Your strength is small.

Solomon had this to say to us who suffer. It seems suffering is for us to have more strength. Its fine to praise the Lord in song and worship in church when all is going well, but how are you in the midst of suffering? Is the LORD still LORD of all?

I am one that does not like to give up. Besides if we dont go forward with Jesus where can we go? We have to press on. We just have to.

In the past eight months I have been suffering bad bouts of depression. There has been times I have almost given up. Hard times call for a person with longsuffering and endurance and patience which the LORD is instilling in me. Your divorce can instill these fruits into you.

The LORD God has many promises in the Bible. The Bible is full of them and in times when we are suffering it is good to reflect on them.

Proverbs 10:24 (New King James Version)

24 The fear of the wicked will come upon him,

And the desire of the righteous will be granted.

Here is a scripture of promise for those of you in adversity at the moment. If you are true to God and He is true to His word you will see your desires granted. You just have to have the strength to carry on.

Hope isnt lost when someone serves you with divorce papers. Hope is lost when God stops the sun from shining each day.
