Make the Decision
This may sound a bit silly butmake sure you truly want to sell your vehicle. I have heard many a story about sellers remorse or a frustrated potential buyer who had his heart set on a vehicle and the seller backs out. They remember and word travels fast. You may very well muddy the water when you are later serious about selling.

Build Your Ad
Your ads need to be detailed with a lot of photos. Did I mention detailed with lots of photos? You will thank me later for this. It is always a good idea to run spell check and have someone else read it over. Lots of people will be looking at your ad and whether you believe it or not, the more time and effort you take in creating the ad the more money you will end up with when you sell.

Target Your Audience
If you want to sell your collectible vehicle in a relatively short period of time and at a good market price you need to target your advertising. You should spend some time finding related car clubs in you area. There are also great websites like Hemmings Motor News and organizations like the AACA to assist in your research.

Choose Your Medium
Online Classifieds
Online classified sites like Hemmings.com and Collector Car Trader Online offer you a tremendous opportunity to put your vehicle in front of thousands of internet surfers. Just understand that you will be spending a lot of time answering the same questions and your email will be full of a lot of unqualified lookers. A word on free ad sites: Some worksome dont. In many cases you get what you pay for. Many keep sold cars to give appearance of a very active site. Nothing annoys buyers more than hearing, I sold that vehicle months ago and they just wont take it off the site.

Niche Magazines
Another advertising resource is magazines and websites that are specific to the marque or type of collectible automobile. They have a highly targeted audience but in most cases it takes 30-60 days for your ad to appear in print.

eBay Auctions
eBay is the worlds largest online auction site. Millions of registered users are buying and selling everything from knick knacks to project cars. They are starting to lose some of their luster with all the fraudulent emails, stolen cars and a less than stellar sell-through rate. I ran a report earlier this year and found that over 3,000 vehicles were listed and the number of successful auctions was under 400. Hmm$40.00 to list for a 7-day auction multiplied by 3,000 is $120,000. Good for eBaynot so good for collectors. On a side note, the most searched for vehicle make on eBay is Honda and last time I checked there were not a lot of Hondas garnering collectors interest. Do your homework when you price the vehicle and be prepared for a lot of bogus bids.

The New Approach
Many sellers are turning to specialized marketing and online auction organizations that will analyze your target market, develop a marketing plan, take care of all of the ad placements and even pre-qualify your potential buyers. These new organizations have various programs, so choose carefully. Some want a percentage of selling price much like a broker, and others offer flat-fee programs. Do your homework. The wind swept past her, stood fast in her way, "Stealing Saturn, are you?" he chuckled, "However do you think you are going to help your inner child grow if you go around robbing the Universe of it's planets?"

"Now is not a time for debates about enlightenment", I cried. " I have painted whimsical angel pictures and keep them in a locket to remind me of what fantasy art women dream of. I keep them and know that the power that you dear Wind always understood was yours... is mine as well. I must have it! Saturn is mine! In my heart I take the secrets of magic, all the fairy tales untold and gather them in my arms. They are an energy of mystery. Saturn is mine!"

And the Wind grew yet ceased his objections because he enjoyed the game as well.

If you can paint it then fantasy becomes real. I am an art fairy, a fantasy art women and I long for the planets and stars to flourish in their dance into the sky. Let me ride the wind and whisper recipes for chocolate eclairs and well clad gingerbread men to every fairy I see. Alas we will gather together for high tea, right on the moons surface; the Wind; the earth goddess; whimsical angels and me. I blush and mingle all the colors together and feel their melody. There are no debates about enlightenment once one learns the code, it is to open your wings and heart, stop that ever ticking chatter in your head, rest and feel joy. After a lovely afternoon I gathered my whimsical angel pictures any leftover chocolate I could find and put them in my satchel, I was on to another journey. And yes indeed! I did gather Saturn with one arm, pondered a bit , then I stole all the stars as well!

I have posted my poem "Sunsets" before under poetry but feel it is also so fitting for my story about "Stealing Saturn".

"Sunsets"

She travels with magic on a mystical ride.
She walks in the moonlight
and covers my mind.
She travels the road down past the pines,
where the mist meets the morning
'fore the river turns ice.

We gather up petals
from the flowers that have died.
She travels with magic
on a mystical ride,
pointing out sunsets
and ponies to ride.
So just see how it goes
how the magic unfolds
how the children you've known
lend out sea covered rhymes
still fasting
but no longer cold.

Men, Get Over It - Go To The Doctor

Many men dont like going to doctors unless theyve had their arm blown off in combat, or have been run over by a truck. Theyll go these rare times voluntarily, because they really want that arm sewn back on or those broken bones set.

What about those times when somethings just not right, and worse yet, its of a more personal and intimate nature?

What about when youre standing there peeing blood, or suddenly your bowels have gone all wonky? Do you run to the doctor? Nope. You ignore it and hope it goes away. The cramps will go away, the weird sensations will go away, and the problem will disappear. You may think you can work through this on your own.

Women are more accustomed to having their personal health issues widely publicized. Watch TV for five minutes and youll see more than your share of ads for feminine hygiene products of every nature. There are numerous reminders for women about breast cancer, cervical cancer and yeast infections. With the help of strong media campaigns, women seem to have gotten over their reluctance to address signs and symptoms that could indicate conditions that are far more serious.

Where are the reminders geared specifically towards men? Lets take prostate cancer, for example. Is it any less acceptable to talk about? Is it any less important or prevalent? Is testicular cancer, penile cancer or genital herpes any less important for a man?

Why do the only male-related health products we seem to see advertised on TV pertain to achieving and maintaining erections? These likely wont do you much good if you have underlying conditions that havent been addressed.

Going to the doctor is not always a pleasant experience, Ill admit. While women are told to relax and breathe, men are told to bend over and cough. Both sexes must bite the bullet and undergo these examinations, simply because it could save their lives.

Why must a man be half-dead before he sees a doctor? Sadder still, why must his cancer or other disorder progress to the point that by the time he does see a professional, theres not a whole lot they can do for him, except to keep him comfortable?

Listen up, men. Those days when the doctor drank a third of a bottle of whiskey, gave you a third, and then poured the rest over your wound after hacking at you with a rusty blade are long gone.

Its really not that bad anymore.

What is bad is when you ignore your signs and symptoms until its too late.

Here are some frequent excuses I hear from men about why they dont go to the doctor, even when they have disturbing symptoms:

Im too busy at work.

I cant afford the fees.

Ill get to it next month.

My symptoms arent that bad any more.

Doctors dont know anything. Ill be fine.

If Im meant to die, Ill die. (This must be the philosophical approach.)

While a man might think it's a good idea to go to the doctor if he has a bullet wound to the head, rarely does he think its a good idea when his urination is painful or hes bleeding from his rectum. Those are things that men dont seem to be comfortable talking about, let alone having checked out.

For the sake of yourself and your loved ones, when you have unusual symptoms, be a real man. Go to the doctor.

Asking For What You Need

As I waited for my appointment at the fracture clinic, a number of worries consumed me. I can't drive for six weeks. How will I see the Great Wall of China with an air boot and a cane? I decided to take hold of my emotional state by asking myself an important question, "What is the possible gift of this situation?" The answer came straight back - "Learn to ask for what you need". That struck me as being a very valuable lesson for everyone.

We all have things we may need assistance with, ranging from help with chores around the house to investment advice. My first opportunity to ask for help came when I crawled over to the phone with my swollen foot to ask my neighbor, Marc, to take me to the doctor. Let's face it - there are no brownie points awarded for struggling and trying to meet all of our needs on our own. We can learn to make a request - accepting that the answer can be a "yes" or a "no". Asking for help means we're simply being honest - with ourselves and with those around us. When we take on a task that we really think we either shouldn't be doing or should be getting some help with, we just build up a reservoir of resentment that's ready to boil over on the hapless individual who's unlucky enough to be in front of you when you can't contain it any more.

What I've learned from the past two weeks of asking for what I need is that I feel incredibly nourished and appreciated - by my children, my family, my friends, even the many taxi drivers I've encountered while unable to drive. The generosity of people and willingness to help, if we open that door and ask, is incredible. But most importantly, I'm feeling more in the flow again, filled with a new sense of peace and pride that by asking for what I need, I'm able to take better care of myself.

So why is that so important? When our needs are addressed, we can step back into that zone and take care of those around us in a way that's not possible otherwise. Plus it invites those around us to do the same for themselves! I encourage all of you to see what unmet needs you can take care of and ask for help with this month - let me know how you do!

How to Ask for What You Need

If you're ready and willing to ask for what you need, here are some important things to know!

1. Check in with yourself - what do you need? When you're starting to feel overwhelmed or stressed out by life's unexpected turn of events, take a moment to step back from the immediate situation. Take a few deep breaths and then ask yourself, "What do I need to do to take care of myself in this situation?" "Is there something I need in this moment?" Listen for what your inner wisdom tells you.

2. You Are the World's Best Expert on You So often we defer to other people's opinion and advice. (Yup, that's definitely me!) But everyone has their own unique "zone". What works for someone else may not work for you. You are the world's best expert on YOU - so consult yourself. If you do feel the need to poll others for their views, go ahead and get some input but don't use that as an excuse for not taking your own advice. If you're still not sure, Debbie Ford recommends imagining what you'd tell your best friend if she was in your shoes - and then take that advice!

3. Start Where you Are Some days you'll wake up feeling energized, other days you may feel like it's all you can do to brush your teeth! Buddhist nun Pema Chodron's book, "Start Where You Are: A Guide to Compassionate Living", makes the case that following this principle will cultivate fearlessness and awaken a compassionate heart. Resolve to be patient with yourself as you navigate back to your "zone" and start from where you are.

4. Be Playful and Lighten Up! When we feel ourselves going off track, it's easy to get glum, serious and to berate ourselves. Why not lighten things up, even make a game of it? Or if some days you feel like you're operating at only 20% of your capacity, ask yourself what you'd need to do to notch it up to just 30% that day. Is There A Cure For Stuttering?

At the age of four I developed a stutter. Even to this day, I am now aged thirty-three, I have no idea as to why I started to stutter. There is not one member of my family who has the speech impediment and for many years I would ask myself the same question, why me? At the age of around fourteen I stopped asking myself questions about how or why I had the stuttering problem and started to look for a solution. I so wanted to be able to talk fluently and I was now asking a new question, is there a known cure for stuttering?

For many years I felt very lonely. I seemed to be in a different world to everybody else, a world of fear and frustration. I worried every day about my speech and about the way in which other people would react, if and when I did trip up on a word. I was constantly frustrated, part of this frustration was due to the fact that I found it so difficult to talk where as other people seemingly found it so easy. The other side to the frustration was the fact that the stutter dictated every decision I ever made and I always ended up accepting second best.

I was also lonely because I felt like I was one of only a few people who had this form of speech impediment, I certainly did not know of anyone else who had the problem. I am now aware that many people suffer with stuttering.

When searching for the stuttering cure, many, in fact most people informed me that you can not cure a stutter. This was of course quite annoying to hear, but was something I did not accept. Aged sixteen I became drunk for the first time, it was also the first time in my life where I had been fluent for a sustained period of time. How strange, I could speak fluently when under the influence of alcohol, who can possibly tell me there is not a cure for stuttering?

Aged twenty-two and after a lot of hard work I managed to rid myself of the stutter, to enable myself to speak fluently when sober and when drunk. My advice to people out there is to not always believe what you are told, where there is a will, there is a way.

Is Your Relationship Over? Make A Clean Break

So your relationship is over, but you just want to see him/her just one more time. You can if you really have to but if you can be strong and make a clean break; you will be on the road to recovery sooner rather than later.

This is a big one. If there is one thing you can do for yourself that will help you move on with your life the fastest...it will be to avoid the on-again-off-again dance that so many people experience when ending a relationship.

If it's over...it's over!

Deep down in your heart you know it, but many people hope against hope that if they go back just one more time, things will work out.

So...they go back and try. 99% of the time it's the same sad outcome, minus a couple of precious months that would have been better spent in trying to heal themselves.

Don't try to be friends. Don't meet for dinner to see them one more time. Don't talk on the phone and rehash the past and don't let them continue to be a part of your life when they're not.

I know it's difficult to make the break, but be strong and keep your distance. It will make it easier on you in the long run. Instead, if you choose to keep in touch; you will only prolong the process. You will have to go through it anyway, so why put it off and make it harder on yourself?

All of our choices come with consequences. When you choose to see him one more time or talk to him again and again, the consequence is: you will begin to heal later rather than sooner. You will waste more of your precious time and you will hold onto the hope that things might work out, which will only be a disappointment to you in the long run.

Making a clean break and acceptance go hand in hand. The "clean break" is evidence that you've "accepted" that it's over and you are ready to move on with your life.

So...if you really want to be friends. Allow yourself the time to get over the pain of the break-up and then if you still want to; you can resume your friendship. Keep busy, find anything else to do, just don't go back there one more time.

Remember, take the right steps to heal your broken heart and...You will survive!

Tips For Taking An RV Vacation With Kids

RV camping with kids can be fun for you and a great experience for the youngsters and it's good for kids to get out of the city once in a while. Get them out and away from the television and video games. Let them see a jackrabbit or a snake or or any number of wondrous things. Tell them about the different kinds of trees and plants that are found around the campground.

I had a great biology teacher in high school who took us on nature hikes and told us about the plants and animals that lived in the woods around us. I still remember a lot of what we learned. You can be a biology teacher to you kids or you can learn together.

This is a true story: On one of RVing trips we were waiting in line at a buffet type club dinner. The line was moving very slowly and the teenager behind me complained to her mother that she was hungry and wanted to know what was taking so long. In jest, I quipped that they had probably run out of hamburgers and had to go butcher another cow. The girls jaw dropped. She looked at her mother and asked, "Is that true? Hamburgers come from cows?" Her mother said it was true... where did she think hamburger came from?

Tips for Taking RV Trips with Kids

Moving about in the motor home when it is moving is not advisable. Kids must realize that they cannot play active games... tag, hide and seek, etc.... in a rolling home.

Audio tapes and CDs to keep their ears and minds occupied are options. If you're traveling with teens remind them to fill their iPods with some good listening.

Pick up some cheap items from a dollar store to use for "special awards". These places often have magnetic checker/chess sets and other games that are great for in car entertainment. Hold back some of the "treasures" you got for use in emergencies. Children can be very helpful in setting up and striking camp. Children should be assigned chores that will be their responsibility. Allow extra time for each day. Kids need frequent stops. And get off the road early in the afternoon so the kids can have the evening to play. An RV Resort or campground with a swimming pool and playground area is something the children can look forward to. Keeping children entertained, amused, busy along the way is worth any time that you may spend preplanning activities. Keep it FUN!

Did Jesus Use Icebreakers?

How can you "break the ice" with a youth who is a total stranger and guide the discussion from an awkward silence into a meaningful conversation?

Jesus often got people talking with his first question and then was able to guide the discussion so that it developed into a meaningful conversation about a life-changing topic!

He met people where they were--whether they were drawing water, fishing, collecting taxes, watching him from a treetop, or worshipping God in the Temple in Jerusalem.

But Jesus was never content to leave them where they were. His objective was always a changed life!

Remember the Woman at the well... A simple request for a drink led to a meaningful discussion on "living water" that transformed a village.

Zacheus was simply hoping to get a glimpse of Jesus but instead got to talk to him at his own dinner table in a conversation that not only changed his life, but reached out to the lives of many sinners!

Christ's first words to Nicodemus, a religious scholar, were a conundrum, a puzzle that left him searching. And that search seemingly reached its conclusion when Nicodemus took a bold step of faith, along with Joseph of Arimathea, and asked for the body of Christ after the Crucifixion.

Fresh experiences often served as living parables.

It's easy to relate to the feelings, thoughts, and experiences when you have just experienced them. Then it is only a short little jump to deeper truths and understanding.

The "here and now" becomes a springboard
to the distant future,
to choices and consequences.
A small controlled simulation
becomes a safe crucible
to test the consequences of real life decisions.

In the same way today, games, challenges, and contrived situations can generate discussions and expose the same deep set beliefs, attitudes, and values as real life situations and events.

How you play the game
is a reflection of who you are
and how you deal with life!

But in all things Jesus always had a purpose.
He broke the ice,
and later his own body would be broken,
so that broken lives could be mended.

Lasagna: The Quick, Easy, and Delicious Way

Do you know that the local restaurant you frequent probably doesnt make everything from scratch? I learned this when I worked in a New York City a while back. Much to my dismay, I watched one day as the kitchen staff unpacked boxes of already-made sauces, packages of conveniently chopped vegetables, and even prepared cookie dough and pie-shells. There is a well-known chain of sandwich shops that boasts heroes with freshly baked bread. But you might be expecting to find frenetic yeast rising and dough rolling in the back. Chances are you would see globs of dough pre-formed into hero-bread shape, waiting to be put in the oven. And whats the difference? The cookie or bread would taste freshly baked, and the cooks wouldnt waste time with rolling pins or discarding dough that didnt rise. It makes for a much more efficient kitchen, right?

Well, why not use the same principle in your own kitchen? You can make a delicious lasagna without rolling out the pasta dough, or even toiling over a stove to make your own sauce, like Grandma did. Of course, if you want to do everything from scratch, more power to you, because you probably have no kids, dont have to work for a living, and have someone to clean the mansion and do the laundry. But for the rest of us, leave the saucing to Francesco Rinaldi, and the pasta artistry to Ronzoni. Your guests will think you knocked yourself out for them, and you can still put your own culinary signature on your lasagna. To this day, friends still call me on me to tell them how to make my lasagna, and my name doesnt even end in a vowel!

First, buy a package of lasagna pasta. To make it special, you can get green spinach pasta. If you want to make it really outstanding and you live in a big city, or an area with a big Italian population, you can go to the local Italian deli and get fresh lasagna noodles, instead of picking your box off the grocery shelf. Check with the store about cooking time and make sure you tell them you are making a lasagna, so the pasta will be put in the oven after cooking. Sometimes you get already-cooked pasta that you can put right into the oven without par-boiling. If you use pasta from the box, do not boil it for the 15 minutes they tell you on the box. You want your pasta to be al dente which is a little hard, because when you put it in the oven to bake your lasagna, the pasta will cook more, and you dont want it to overcook it and let it get mushy.

The next thing you are going to put together is your filling. Now, here is where you are going to put your own signature on your lasagna. Mine was little mini-meatballs, but you can also brown the chopped meat and put it in too. Start with some tomato sauce. Here too, take liberty and pick out a jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce. You can use meat sauce and you dont have to brown any meat. You can use sauce with sausage, or to make it really special, buy already-made Italian sausage. Make sure you cook it first. Want to add your own special vegetable? You can put in cooked eggplant, zucchini. Onions, peppers or whatever you want. Add fresh herbs if you desire. If you want to make a vegetarian lasagna, leave out the meat. Want to go easy on the calories and cholesterol? Use chicken or instead of chopped beef, use chopped veal or even chopped turkey. For a very different lasagna, put in seafood -- calamari, mussels, or even shrimp.

Now you are ready to assemble your lasagna and put it in the oven to bake. You will need a large container of ricotta cheese and a package of mozzarella cheese too. Take a rectangular baking dish- either glass or metal, or even disposable. Spray the bottom with non-stick cooking spray or a thin layer of olive oil. Then line the bottom of the pan with sauce. Then cover the bottom with a layer of your pre-cooked al dente lasagna noodles. Next, slather on your ricotta cheese in a thick layer. Then, put on your filling and sauce. Then, put another layer of lasagna noodles, again slather on ricotta, and again your filling. Top off with a layer of lasagna noodles, liberally pour sauce on top, and then slices of mozzarella to cover the top. Put the pan in a 350-degree oven for 30 minutes, or until the mozzarella on top is completely melted and the sauce is bubbling.

Make sure to serve some Italian bread and compliment with a good bottle of wine, and your guests will never know that you didnt slave all day. You can even make the components of the filling the day before. That way, all you have to do on the night of your dinner party is parboil the lasagna noodles, assemble the lasagna, and pop it in the oven. Everything is already cooked; you only have to put it all in the oven to melt the mozzarella and heat everything up. The lasagna is your creation. You have chosen what goes into it and what flavors and spices your guests taste buds will enjoy. And the best part? If there are leftovers, you can reheat it and enjoy it again. I will never figure out why, but Italian food always tastes even better the second time around. Isnt there a song like that? Or is it love that is better the second time around? Love? Lasagna? They certainly go together.

Squashing the Gay Relationship Killer Known As Jealousy

Introduction

You might feel it when that hot stud across the room at the gym gives your lover the look-over. You might experience it if your ex-boyfriends ever cheated on you and then you project it onto your current man. Or you might experience it if you have an open relationship and you know your partner is out tricking. Whatever its form, jealousy can take on many different faces and it can kill your relationship if its not managed appropriately. If youre the one whos afflicted with jealousy, it can torment and consume you, zapping you of all security and contentment. If youre the partner of a jealous lover, your frustration at having to walk on eggshells and constantly reassure your guy of your commitment to him can be maddening.

Jealousy is not bad in and of itself. It is a feeling and all our feelings are ok; its what we do with them that can mean the difference between relationship calm and relationship storm. Jealousy can actually benefit your partnership in its mildest form. But if it is a recurrent, pervasive theme that seems to dominate the climate of your relationship, it can sabotage your future together and lead to a lot of hurt and grief. This article will address some of the dynamics involved in jealousy and offer some tips for you and your partner in overcoming and defeating it.

Jealousy & Its Causes

Jealousy can be defined as a feeling that arises from a perceived threat to your relationship. It almost always involves fearfear of loss of abandonment or losing your partner, fear of being replaced with someone else, fear of not being important enough anymore and being excluded, etc. This significantly impacts ones self-esteem and leads to insecurity and using self-defeating behaviors to ward off these painful feelings and gain a sense of control (although it never really accomplishes that and creates vicious cycles of the same dysfunctional behavior over and over again). Self-defeating behaviors might include spying on your partner, excessive clinginess toward him, constant questioning of his whereabouts and activities, among others.

What are the causes of jealousy? There are inner and outer causes. Inner causes might include low self-esteem and confidence (believing one is unattractive or unworthy of being in a healthy relationship), a past history of experiences that created distrust, and beliefs that one will be single forever if he loses his partner. External causes might include how ones partner acts (expressing interest or flirting with someone else) or the actual involvement of a third person in the relationship. Factors that seem to affect the susceptibility to jealousy include the length and stability of the relationship, maturity, dependence, and level of self-esteem of the individuals, their expectations for emotional gratification, and the perceived availability of alternatives to the primary relationship (Neidig & Friedman, 1984).

Low levels of jealousy can actually be positive for your relationship. It can be a signal that somethings off between the two of you. It can help partners feel cared for and be an indication to not take each other for granted. It can also increase communication, commitment, and sexual intensity. Jealousy becomes problematic when it is expressed indirectly, is experienced compulsively, becomes irrational, or leads to extreme levels of vigilance and control (Neidig & Friedman, 1984). The major consequence is that it also leads to a severe break-down in the level of trust and intimacy between the two men, core ingredients that are necessary for a healthy relationship to last. And the other paradoxical effect of jealousy is that it can create the very outcome that is feared and dreaded the most---the ending of the relationship.

Tips For Conquering the Jealousy Beast

If you are the one suffering from jealousy *Acknowledge your jealousy. Avoid minimizing or denying its existence. Recognize that you are not your jealousyit is a part of you, one aspect of you that you can learn to manage. Admitting its power over you is the first step to conquering it.

*Identify the cause of your jealousy. What feelings are underneath your jealousy? Work on developing more effective ways to cope with these specific emotions.

*Keep a journal and write about your experience of jealousy and what it means to you. Ask yourself such questions as:
Do I trust my partner and believe what he says?
Am I projecting my own issues and feelings onto him and blaming him? What is my jealousy really about?
What hurts? Whats missing in my life?
What are the consequences of my jealousy? What do I get out of it that may be perpetuating it?
Are my jealous feelings rational or irrational? Are they based more on real threats or insecurities?

*Identify your triggers to jealousy and either avoid them or find ways to confront them head-on in a healthy way.

*Live in the present. Your partner is not your ex-boyfriend. Learn how to control your anger and grieve past losses and hurts.

*Refrain from obsessing and compulsively questioning your partners behavior. Monitor your own thoughts and always check your motives and feelings against reality.

*Realize that you are responsible for your own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. You create your own interpretations and perceptions of events and situations. Learn to identify and challenge irrational thoughts and beliefs and develop affirmations or coaching, coping statements to write on index cards for reference to help you through difficult times.

*Practice relaxation techniques to help you cope with your anxiety.

*Make sure to have a life separate from your partner to reduce dependency and bring more fresh air into the relationship. Reach out to your friends, build your support system, and seek out social outlets that inspire a sense of fun and purpose.

*Build your self-esteem by taking safe risks that boost your confidence and allow you to see the strengths you possess.

If you are the partner of a jealous lover *Be patient and endure through this difficult period. Understand how painful and difficult it is for your partner and empathize and validate his feelings. Provide reassurances of your love, but dont enable his behavior.

*Take care of yourself. Practice good stress management for emotional wellness.

*Identify ways you might be able to support your partner and show how you value him. Explore your own behavior to determine if youre reinforcing your lovers jealousies in any way.

And finally, together as a couple *Identify if the jealousy has its roots in an underlying problem in your relationship. Whats missing? Are there any unmet needs that require your attention?

*Dont make assumptions! Avoid mind-reading and always check feelings or thoughts that you may have with each other.

*This is a great opportunity to open the channels of communication and see if any new boundaries or relationship rules need to be re-negotiated, created, or dropped.

*Make your relationship a #1 priority! Spend lots of quality time together and engage in activities that will re-vitalize your bond and restore some of that damaged trust and intimacy.

Conclusion
Jealousy doesnt have to rule your life. Make a commitment to aggressively minimize its influence so that there will be more energy available for your own self-care and for enriching your relationship. These are the things that really matter. So squash that bugger before it has the chance to contaminate what the two of you have worked so hard to build. Convert that jealousy into passion for yourself and for your partner and before long youll no longer heed Jealousys evil whispers. You can do it!

Explore the World of the Mountain Biker

When most people think of mountain biking, they think of climbing up to the top of a mountain and then riding down it again. However, there are plenty of opportunities for the fat-tire enthusiast, and the disciplines are growing every year as riders find new ways to challenge themselves.

Below is just a brief list of some of the biking disciplines associated with mountain biking. For each discipline, you'll be able to find bikes especially made for the different challenges they present, and the different skills needed.

1. BMX

BMX stands for bicycle motocross. The cycles used are specially designed to operate on a dirt track: a groomed racecourse made up of various jumps, banked and flat corners, and therefore have small wheel diameters - 20-inches, and fat tires. The sport began in California in the late 1960s, as young boys began emulating their motocross heroes, and is now popular around the world.

2. Cross country

Just as its name implies, fat-tire enthusiasts bike across country - specifically hilly country to test the rider's endurance.

3. Cyclo cross

A cyclo cross bike is a road bike with powerful brakes, extra mud clearance, and tires that aren't exactly fat but do have knobs on. These bikes are used for Cyclo cross racing, a sport which began in Europe, as off-season training for road racers. The courses are a mile long, and are partly paved and partly mud-soaked to give the rider all kinds of challenges. Also on the course are a certain number of barricades, forcing the rider to dismount and carry his bike over them. Everyone races flat out.

4. Dirt jumping

The idea with dirt jumping is not so much the jumping but what tricks the rider can do while he is air borne. The idea is not to get around the course as fast as possible but to have the most air time and do the most stunts in the air.

5. Downhill

As the name implies, downhill biking means getting down the hill as fast as possible, much like downhill skiing. It's a time trial event - bikers don't ride together but rather start down the course at intervals. This is because the way down is not smooth - there are plenty of obstacles to negotiate along the way.

6. Freeride

Freeriding is a sport that has just recently come into vogue. The courses feature man-made obstacles such as teeter totters and skinny bridges, and can take place in-doors as well as out on specially prepared mountain courses.

7. Single speed

Those who like the uncluttered life will use a bike with only one gear and fewer components. The idea is simplicity. The racers however still go all out - both up and down courses. This sport is popular around the world.

8. Urban

Most cities were not designed for the bicyclist - and people on two wheels are resented by those on four. And then there are the pedestrians... However, people who don't live near mountains or hills haven't let that stop t hem from creating challenging, man-made courses - with all the obstacles available in urban areas.

Justifying Outside Help at times we all need consultants. You are not alone in considering outside talent; 60% of all businesses use independent contractors, and according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, over 8 million such people are in the workforce.

But what on earth is killing your time and that of your employees and why isnt 40 hours a week or even 75 enough?

As an independent strategic marketing, business development and PR consultant, clients are often amazed, yet puzzled at my productiveness. How do I get a project done so efficiently? The answer is, I only do work I am not a part of your corporate world and thus I automatically eliminate anything that is not directly related to getting the job done. What Are You Attracting? Do This Exercise to Examine Your Relationship Behavior

What you believe about yourself is what you'll attract to yourself. If you believe that you are a person who deserves to be treated well by others, you'll attract kindness. If you believe you're not really worthy of being treated well, you'll attract people who will harm you.

Think about your past relationships. Were they positive or negative experiences? If they were negative, think about what you believed about yourself at the time.

Did you stay in an abusive situation because you thought you would never find someone else?

Did you keep telling yourself that maybe things would change for the better?

Did you convince yourself that you weren't important enough to express your opinions? Were you afraid to?

Did you believe it wasn't so bad?

Did you stay because the sex was good, even though you fought constantly otherwise, convincing yourself that it was love?

Did you feel like you couldn't live without that person?

I challenge you to examine your beliefs. The beliefs you hold about yourself are the keys to why you may be attracting the wrong kind of person. Dig deep and look at your beliefs. Maybe it's time to do some spring cleaning and get rid of the negative thoughts that have held you back from finding the love of your life. Do this exercise to look at what you are attracting. Think of all of your past relationships. Use one piece of paper (more if needed) for each person. Put each person's name at the top of the paper and list the following:

How did you meet?

How long did you know each other before you were intimate?

What did you used to argue about most frequently?

Personality traits (yours and your former partner's)

Problem behaviors (addictions, infidelities, jealousy, violent behaviors, etc.)

There are many more things you could write, of course, but this will get you started. After you've finished writing, compare the relationships. Notice what you were attracting. Notice the similarities and differences. Chances are, you will find you have behaved similarly and attracted similar people each time. This is powerful because once you identify what you've been doing, you can change it. You may need to consult with a relationship coach or counselor to help you change these patterns and that's all right. You've already started to change the pattern just by acknowledging it. OK - this is not the most exciting topic out there when it comes to sex and I know you are all probably tired of getting the safe sex lecture every where you go. The rate of HIV and sexually transmitted infections tells me that not everyone is paying attention and lets be honest here; it is a scary world out there these days when it comes to sexually transmitted infections and HIV. Sex comes with many things; among them are risk and responsibility. You have the responsibility to protect yourself and your partner from HIV, sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancy. In other words, you have the responsibility to have sex with the lowest risk for these things possible.

While I may discuss a lot of sexual behaviors and techniques here, let me be perfectly clear that for the sake of argument, when I write about such things I am assuming that those of you out there that are heeding my advice and tips about how to spice things up in your respective bedrooms are practicing safer sex. But what does that mean? The following are a few simple steps you can follow to make sure you are practicing safer sex at all times:

* You and your partner have both been tested for HIV and sexually transmitted infections and if either of you are positive for anything you will be treated if possible and will protect each other from infection.

* You and your partner will use condoms, either male or female to protect yourselves against HIV and sexually transmitted diseases.

* You will use condoms and dental dams while engaging in oral sex.

* You and your partner will negotiate whether or not you will practice monogamy and if you decide to be non-monogamous you will agree to use safer sex practices with any other partner.

* You do not engage in any sexual behavior that puts you in contact with anyones bodily fluids.

* You know your partners history, sexual and other wise. Have they ever had an STD? Have they ever used drugs? Shared needles? When was the last time they had sex with someone besides you?

* If you do not desire pregnancy you will use a reliable form of birth control.

* If you are diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease or HIV you will tell your partner immediately so they may seek testing and treatment.

I know it sounds like the most unromantic thing you have ever heard but believe me, knowing you are protected from HIV and sexually transmitted diseases as well as unwanted pregnancy will actually help you relax and enjoy yourself in bed. Once you and your partner agree to take these steps, the pressure is off and you can concentrate on having an amazing sex life.

One more thing, do not think that safer sex has to take the excitement out of your sexual repertoire.. There are a lot of things you can do to have safer sex that is hot, hot, hot! Here are just a couple of examples: Putting on a condom takes just a few seconds and it can be really hot to help your man put it on! Better yet, learn how to do put it on your man with your mouth! Using flavored lubricant can make oral sex even more appetizing!

Another thing to consider is the idea that if you do not know someone well enough or are not comfortable enough with someone to address these issues, you may want to reconsider whether or not you want to share your body with them.

The ending of a relationship, for whatever reason, can be one of the most painful experiences that we can go through. Having made ourselves vulnerable by opening our hearts to another and loving him to the fullest capacity almost feels spiritual; now its been replaced with a crushing sense of loss and emptiness that feels quite devastating. The length of time together, the quality of the relationship, and the level of emotional investment in it all determine the intensity of the grief experienced when you and your lover part ways.

This article will explore the grieving process involved with relationship breakups and offer tips and strategies for facilitating your grief to move you toward healing so you can start your life over on better footing.

The Grieving Experience

The experience of breaking up with a boyfriend or partner can be likened to a death, with layer upon layer of losses resulting. Not only is his absent physical presence felt as a loss, but other losses like hopes, dreams, expectations, identity, security, and trust compound and complicate your adjustment. Life as you knew it has been shaken and your vision for your future has been altered. You experience a roller-coaster of emotions. Its common to feel rejected, abandoned, insecure, powerless, and hopeless. Confusion and feeling a sense of failure and regret are common, as well as varying degrees of anger, depression, and guilt. You might even become preoccupied with your ex-lover, obsessing about him and thinking constantly about your life together and what he might be doing now.

In her book, Healing A Broken Heart(1997), Nancy Joy Carroll, ED.D outlines four stages of relationship loss that are common in the aftermath of a breakup. They include the following:

Stage 1: Shock & Denial: This usually occurs immediately after the split-up. You might feel numb, believe that this cant be happening and minimize the reality of the situation. You feel sad, angry, confused, and might blame yourself.

Stage 2: Despair: You begin to see that the ending is inevitable and experience profound sadness, loneliness, depression, and impaired concentration. You might try to bargain with your partner to try to convince him to give the relationship another chance. You idealize your partner. You feel unlovable, wondering if you can make it on your own, and feel a loss of identity.

Stage 3: Detachment: Anger becomes more pronounced and you begin to hold your partner more responsible for the relationship split. This stage is particularly helpful as your anger helps to create some distance for you from him and youre not as enmeshed.

Stage 4: Recovery: In this final stage, you come to an acceptance of the loss and learn to let go, redefining yourself as a single man again and feel more empowered to cultivate new experiences and opportunities for personal growth.

Tips Along the Grief Path You are going through a major shift in your identity. Be patient and kind with yourself as you journey through the grieving process. Keep these tips in mind as you forage through the pain youre experiencing to prevent any blocks or impediments along the path of healing. It can be a rocky road, but staying focused and conscious will promote a smoother and more successful transition to the new you.

Everyone grieves at their own rate and pace; theres no timeline, so dont rush yourself. It can sometimes take years.

As you go through the stages of loss, be aware that healing is not linear. Expect to progress up and down through the stages. Endure through it.

Avoid stuffing your feelings; be open to them no matter how much it hurts. Suppressing your emotions only puts a temporary band-aid on your suffering and prolongs your healing. Its ok to cry.

Avoid self-medicating your feelings. Beware of alcohol, drugs, gambling, work, food, sex, or other vices to comfort yourself during this difficult time. These can distract from your grieving work and become addictions.

Depression and anxiety are common emotions during this time period. Should their experience interfere with your daily functioning or accomplishment of daily tasks, seek assistance from a license mental health therapist.

Earlier losses and unfinished business from the past can be triggered when you encounter relationship loss. Be prepared to deal with these as well.

Avoid making major life decisions. Allow yourself time to get more grounded and centered first. Grief can have a tricky way of clouding our judgment if not careful.

Avoid jumping into another relationship right away. Grieve this one completely first.

Ignore others attempts to tell you how you should feel or that you should be over it by now. They didnt live your experience and they are typically projecting their own discomfort with loss and grief.

Avoid being friends with your ex initially. Its common for gay men to remain friends with their ex-boyfriends; decide for yourself if this is something that you would be able to do, and if so, allow yourself some time and space first to grieve. It can be very difficult to transition from life partner to just friends immediately after a breakup. You need time to heal to be able to appropriately view your ex in a new role.

Additional Healing Tips & Strategies

Provide a daily structure for yourself to keep grounded. Stay busy, but not too busy that you get distracted from your emotional work.

Get connected with others. Surround yourself with positive, supportive friends and get engaged with life, no matter how hard it is. Join a grief support group in your area to be with others who can share similar circumstances with you and normalize your grief.

Find a renewed sense of purpose and passion. Join an organization or a cause you care about, take a class, cultivate a new hobby, get involved! Bring healthy pleasure into your life.

Learn to be comfortable being alone. Do some self-soothing and nurturing activities. Find value in self-renewal.

Take this opportunity to learn more about yourself. Work with a life coach to help you learn about healthy relationships and crafting a new vision for your future. Recognize patterns in your relationships and identify areas where you can improve your relationship skills.

Challenge negative self-talk by replacing with more enhancing, affirming, coping thoughts. Identify your strengths and value to boost your self-esteem. Use the power of affirmations and write them on index cards for quick reference.

Remove items that remind you of your ex-lover and tuck them away somewhere so theyre not a constant visual trigger for you. There will come a time when they wont be so jarring to you.

Create a ritual of closure for your relationship (eg. throw a Im moving on party with close friends, etc.) Find a way to commemorate the relationship and what it meant to you to aid in letting go.

Create a scrapbook or collage of memories of your relationship when youre ready.

Release your feelings productively. Take out several sheets of paper and at the top of each write an emotion you feel (sad, angry, hurt, resentful, etc.). Then down the side of the full length of the paper, write I feel and fill in the blank about that particular emotion to release all the feelings you have regarding that as it pertains to your relationship grief. Do some self-soothing afterwards.

Keep a journal or write your ex-lover a letter sharing your feelings and what the relationship meant to you, etc. DO NOT SEND THIS TO YOUR EX! This is for your therapeutic benefit only. Or talk to an empty chair pretending your ex is sitting there and practice processing your emotions this way. This can be extremely cathartic.

Breaking up is hard to do, as an old song once put it. Realize that your pain is a tribute to the significance that this relationship held for you and that you are a survivor. How you choose to deal with the breakup will impact the direction of your life and how soon you will be able to rebuild your life. Identify healthy outlets that you can channel your feelings toward, pinpoint potential blocks that could get in the way of your healing process, and allow yourself to be open to love again when youre ready. How many people know what soap really is? Several of the cleansing bars that you buy at the store, for example, are detergents-and not soaps at all. On the other hand, true soap is made from natural oils (such as olive, coconut and palm) and is a gentle cleansing product more appropriate for use on skin than is detergent.

Soaps, unlike detergents, are made by combining sodium hydroxide or lye, oils and water in a process known as "Saponification". Some people may question the use of lye in handcrafted soap. The fact is that all soap is made with lye. What needs to be made clear is that once the process of saponification is complete, the lye and oil molecules have combined and chemically changed into soap and glycerin. There is no lye present in the finished bars of soap.

The oils in our soaps are put there for a specific purpose. The coconut oil creates a wonderful lather. The olive oil is used for a high quality, long lasting bar. Canola and Palm oil carry nutrients to the skin, and the safflower oil make a creamy bar.

Glycerin is a skin soothing emollient that adds to the goodness of handmade soap. In commercial soaps the glycerin is removed for sale to the cosmetic industry to sell separately, sometimes at a higher price than the soap itself! Glycerin is important to skin care because it is a humectant. Humectants draw moisture from the air, which in turn moisturize your skin. A whole 1/5 of a bar of our soap is glycerin.

Most soaps have artificial ingredients to scent or color. Some handcrafted soap is scented with fragrance oils. These are synthetic chemicals that are mixed together to imitate a particular scent. They have contributed in many cases to chemical sensitivity in some people. They also have no aromatherapy benefits. The scents in our soaps should come only from essential oils, which are steamed or pressed from plants. Essential oils are the fragrance emitting components of plants and are at the heart of aromatherapy. Not only do they smell good; they have many beneficial effects on the body, mind and spirit.

The coloring in our soap should come from nature as well. The petals of Lavender and Rose can be used. Earth Pigments can also be used, which are simply finely ground rocks. This makes the colors rich and earthy, rather than artificial looking.

Gypsy Fortune Teller Halloween Costumes - Easy to Make

As a little girl I often loved to dress up as a gypsy, whether it was for Halloween or just for play. Maybe its because I long to be free to do as I want and go where I wish, without the societal constraints we have to live by (thats why pirates are so fascinating to people too). Whatever it is, creating a fortune teller costume was the highlight of Halloween.

Back then there werent many places to buy fancy costumes (nor did we have the money), so putting my own costume together was a bit of a challenge. Today we can purchase practically any costume we can think of and there are some pretty nice fortune teller Halloween costumes to choose from.

** A Brief History of Gypsy Costumes **

The gypsy people were called Roma or Romani. They are made up of loose nomadic tribes that wandered much of the European countries during the Middle Ages and often lived in caravans. There are still nomadic gypsies in the world today.

In the 15th and 16th centuries, the basic dress of the woman was a simple robe gathered at the neck worn over an under gown made of chemise. They also wore a length of cloth which was draped down the back, around the opposite waist, up the front and tied at the shoulder (think Roman toga). A turban was worn on the head.

As time went on, fashions changed. For the most part, gypsies actually dressed very similar to the peasants of the area in which they traveled and cultural dress of the time. Most of the style of gypsy clothing that we picture today probably came from the Renaissance period when laced vests, flounced skirts, mens breeches and pirate shirts were more popular.

** Making a Gypsy Halloween Costume **

For those that want to put together their own gypsy costume or are planning on being a fortune teller for Halloween this year, you may have to do a bit of shopping around at used clothing stores for some items. If you are handy with a sewing machine, there are many fortune teller costume patterns available as well. Here are some suggestions for both men and women (and boys/girls) that can easily be created once you get all the items:

Women/Girls Fortune Teller/Gypsy Outfit 1

* Long tired skirt in a bright color.

* Gypsy style shirt gathered scooped neck, puffy sleeves gathered at the wrist or long wide flowing sleeves

* Brightly colored front-laced vest

Let your imagination run wild with the colors and styles you could mix and match. The trick is to dress in layers and use clothing that is loose and flowing. Add jewelry like bangles, long flowing necklaces, large earrings and ankle bracelets to enhance your outfit. Use colorful sashes accent the waist (and also to hold daggers). Women could drape several sheer scarves from their waist to hang down in points around a solid colored skirt. Include headbands, bandanas and even eye patches for that gypsy pirate look. Purples, blues, greens, bright yellows, reds and blacks are the most popular colors and will make your outfit stand out.

Elliptical trainers have over taken stationary bikes in popularity with the gym-going population and have long since left rowing machines back at the dock. This is evidenced by gym operators reducing the number of stationary bikes and rowing machines in their facilities to make way for newer varieties of elliptical trainers.

During their day (1980s) stationary bikes and rowing machines along with steppers and climbing machines were about the only options in cardio equipment. You could get a good cardio workout if you stayed on these machines for at least 30 minutes. Though sitting on a stationary bike for that long can leave you with a sore butt. Studies have shown that prolonged use of stationary bikes can lead to impotence in some men. Sure doesn't sound like something I'd want to chance!

Stationary bikes still have their use - hop on one for about 5-10 minutes for a quick warm up for your quads and knees before launching into a heavy leg workout consisting of squats and leg presses. Given the choices in cardio equipment these days, whenever I see someone at a health club slogging away at the lone rowing machine I think -- "must be a new member."

David vs. Goliath

Treadmills have been around longer than elliptical trainers and remain hugely popular. Treadmills must have something going for them. The great thing about treadmills is they simulate the experience of both jogging and walking -- both great cardio exercises. With treadmills you can bring your jogging or walking indoors -- no need (or excuse) to miss a workout because it's raining, snowing, too hot, too cold, etc.

Treadmills have programs that allow you to add variety and challenge to your workouts. You can also increase the incline on many treadmills to further increase the intensity of your treadmill workout and also target other muscles in your lower body more directly. Treadmills have the additional advantage over jogging and running that the belt provides more cushioning to your joints than pounding away on asphalt or concrete. However, treadmills still are much more of an impact exercise than that offered by elliptical trainers.

There's just something more graceful and less stressful about exercising on a quality-made elliptical trainer than a treadmill. And let's face it, many people will agree that working out on an elliptical trainer is somehow less boring than pounding away on a treadmill. Maybe it's not a coincidence that another expression for the "rat race" is "going around on a treadmill!"

Does your vehicle engine run ok?

Symptoms of this nature can be several things.

You could have a sparkplug wire shorting out.

You could have an electrical wire shorting out.

You may have some water in the fuel tank.

Lets take the most common of these three mentioned.

Over the years you cannot keep they fuel tank full at all times.

With a fuel tank half full, the upper part can cause condensation.

This condensation will slowly build up and run down into the bottom of the tank.

When you start to pass another vehicle you call upon the fuel pump to give me more gasoline.

The fuel pump starts working overtime and picks up more fuel, then the water goes into the line along with the gasoline.

The fuel filter catches this water and since water is heavier than gasoline, it drops to the bottom of the filter.

After awhile though, you come up behind me, and Im not driving quite as fast as you would like to go, so you floorboard it and go around me.

What happens when you floorboard it?

Right, you are asking for more fuel.

With the filter partially full of condensation, water, some of it gets picked up into the fuel line and goes to the carburetor or injector.

Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug, Pow!

Purr, purr, purr.

See what happens?

You can solve this problem, most of the time, by changing the fuel filter two or three times a year.

Now, if you have just filled up at the pump, and your car starts acting this way, you may have to take the fuel tank off and clean it out.

Four Simple Healthy Lifestyle Habits May Extend Life, Lower Heart Risk For Older People

Can adopting a healthier lifestyle later in life help or is it too late? This was the question researchers from the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston wanted to answer. In the study results published in the July issue of The American Journal of Medicine, the researchers found that these middleaged people, ages 45 to 64, who added healthy lifestyle behaviors could substantially reduce their risk for cardiovascular disease and reduce their death rate.

Once these people achieved four healthy behaviors, investigators saw a 35 percent reduction in CVD incidence and a 40 percent reduction in mortality compared to people with less healthy lifestyles. The four necessary healthy behaviors are:

1. Eating at least five fruits and vegetables daily.

2. Exercising at least 2.5 hours per week .

3. Maintaining a Body Mass Index between 18.5 and 30 kg/m (Note: a person 5'8" weighing 197 pounds would have BMI of 30. Have your physician check yours).

4. Not smoking.

The potential public health benefit from adopting a healthier lifestyle in middle age is substantial, writes Dana E. King, MD, MS. "The current study demonstrated that adopting four modest healthy habits considerably lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease and mortality in a relatively short-term four-year follow up period. These health findings emphasize that making the necessary changes to adhere to a healthy lifestyle is extremely worthwhile, and that middleage is not too late to act.

There were three key findings from the study :
? First, the benefit of switching to a healthy lifestyle past age 45 became evident even in the fouryear, short-term follow up.
? Second, the beneficial impact of the changes occurred despite the relatively modest changes in health habits.
? Third, the healthy lifestyle was beneficial when compared to all persons with three or fewer healthy habits, not just in comparison to people with none or one habit.
Healthy living is a lifestyle and not a phase one should move in and out of. Although A complete change of life-style may not be the answer at any age these four simple habits may start you in the right direction.

d. Does your spouse apologize after hurting you and promise never to do it again?

e. Do you try to do everything right to keep your spouse from losing his or her temper?

f. Does this work for a little while, only to have the violence eventually start again?

g. Can you feel the pressure building in between violent episodes?

If you can identify with the above questions, you may be a victim of battered spouse syndrome. This situation, although it can occur with both wives and husbands, usually describes a situation in which a husband is physically abusing his wife.

A great deal of psychological and legal study has been done on this topic. Often, women who have been abused forgive their husbands and stay in the abusive situation. It has been found that five times is the average number of times a woman leaves her spouse before she can successfully escape the psychological control an abusive spouse can have over her.

Often, an abused wife alienates her family and friends who get angry when they try to help the woman leave, only to learn that she has returned to her husband and the dangerous situation!

Just reach out, and you will find the answer that is right for you!

The Affair

You never in a million years thought it could happen to you. All of sudden, your spouse stays up late or gets up in the middle of the night to use the computer. Chat rooms, e-mails, internet buddies. Oh my goodness! How did that picture of you get distributed on the internet? (You know, the one you took thinking that it would remain private between you and your spouse.)

Then, there are the old-fashioned, more traditional ways to cheat: the business trip, the co-worker, the high school reunion hook-up, and so on and so forth! Lets not forget the worlds oldest profession.

The question is do you leave or do you stay?

The world is divided into two groups of people (Those who count their carbs and those who dont.) It is also divided into those spouses who can forgive an affair by their spouse and move forward and those who cant.

If you are the victim of a wandering spouse, you should be honest with yourself. You may think you want the marriage to continue. Do you really want to work things out, or are you secretly determined to make your spouses life a living hell. Maybe you dont really want this consciously; perhaps you just cant help yourself.

Maybe your personal or spiritual values will keep you from continuing in a marriage in which your spouse has cheated. Or, the opposite could be true. You may feel that you are committed to stay in your marriage no matter what.

Being honest with yourself about your true motives will go a long way towards helping you make the right decision.

What if you are the person who has found someone else? Maybe your marriage has been over for a long time. What would have to happen to save your relationship? Have you and your spouse talked about what seems to be missing in your marriage. Do you still love your spouse? If you could save your marriage, would you want to? Would you be willing to get some professional help?

Or, is it just a day late and a dollar short? Sometimes, a couple has passed the point of no return. Regardless of whether your spouse wants a divorce or not, the State of Texas will not force a couple to live together if one of them wants a divorce. Most of the time, one person leaves the relationship long before the other. Your spouse may need some catch-up time to get used to this idea.

If this is the case, you should be prepared for a bumpy ride for awhile. Your spouse will probably alternate between being angry, depressed, bargaining, penitent, furious, grieving, victimized, vengeful, retaliatory, depressed again, pathetic, and hostile (and then all over again.)

You may not know which of your spouses multiple personalities you are going to have to deal with on any given day! One minute, everything is calm and you are talking rationally. The next day youre living in the seventh circle of hell.

It helps to remember that some of this is purely situational; ie. it is (believe it or not) normal behavior. It isnt actually about the two individuals you and your spouse. Instead, its about being hurt and feeling betrayed. Both parties feel guilty. Both are suffering. Both feel just plain miserable.

Debt

Lord have mercy. Those purchases seemed like a good idea at the time. All of a sudden, you have credit card debt and lots of it (thousands and thousands of dollars worth).

Sometimes now the question becomes whether to declare bankruptcy and then get divorced or vice versa.

You may not want or intend to declare bankruptcy at all. If this is a consideration though, you should contact a bankruptcy attorney so that you can best consider the options that make the most sense for your personal situation.

Other kinds of financial problems frequently stress a marriage and can bring it to an early conclusion: gambling, excessive drinking, drug use (Im talking about the COSTS involved here), spending on step-children or adult children.

Got problems with child support from a previous relationship? (Interest and penalties can cause the most loving spouse to lose his or her sense of humor.)

Did you use to have great credit but now you cant finance a happy meal? Money cant buy happiness. It has been suggested that the people who believe that dont know where to shop!

Seriously, lets face it! Food and shelter are pretty basic needs (Maslows Hierarchy Psychology 101). A spouse who thinks his or her partner is to blame for their financial ruin may just decide to cut their losses and run (very fast).

Debt counseling and debt consolidation could help. Getting out from under steep monthly payments may provide much needed relief, as can re-financing the house or a home equity loan. These solutions will only work if the couple cures the disease and not just the symptoms! A serious change in lifestyle is in order.

Can you work this through? Can you afford to split up? Two people can live together cheaper than they can apart! Sometimes, a couple literally cannot make it financially living separately.

Traditionally, fiction authors have found it very difficult to get publicity outside of media that reviews books. That's because they've been focusing on their book, rather than the topic. The way novelists can get publicity is to highlight their expertise on a topic related to their book that will interest the media.

For instance, one novelist I know wrote a book about a young woman who was raped and faced the dilemma of should she abort, even though it went against her beliefs? The author had done a lot of research on post-traumatic stress syndrome as it relates to abortion. One of the things she discovered is that abortion affects not just the woman who chooses it, but everyone else involved: the father of the child, the woman's family, even the doctor and nurses who might be involved in the abortion. While her novel graphically portrayed how all this plays out, the publicity angle is based on her expertise as someone who not only had an abortion, but did extensive research on it.

Another novelist I know wrote a fast-paced adventure story concerning, among other things, world hunger. Publicity angles could include how organizations do or do not hinder relief efforts, how corporations fit into the picture (something her novel portrayed), what one person can do to fight world hunger, etc.

Publicity offers some of the best exposure for your book, as I've said over and over again. If you're a novelist, don't overlook this outlet. Brainstorm all the issues that relate to whatever goes on in your book. Keep abreast of news and trends and how you can fit in. See yourself not just as a novelist, but as an expert in some area related to your novel.

When you get publicity for your expertise on your topic, of course your book will get mentioned. You can talk about how your research played into the formation of your characters, etc., but remember to keep the focus on the angle that interests the media.

Clean out all your junk food and decide and confirm that your eating patterns will change.

A common complaint when reducing the oil content of a dressing recipe is that one often misses the thick texture that oil adds to your recipes. Try adding Dijon mustard as an emulsifier to make up for the reduced oil. Like oil, mustard is thick enough to bind the other ingredients and adds a tangy flavor.

In creamy dressings, the emulsifier often is sour cream or mayonnaise (and sometimes oil, too). Providing a healthy option for these ingredients is an easy fix.

Nonfat yogurt, reduced-fat sour cream, and reduced-fat mayonnaise all make good substitutes. They each have good flavor and produce dressings that hold together and coat vegetables quite well.

Or try buttermilk. Buttermilk is always either nonfat or reduced-fat. Its thick texture and mild, tangy flavor makes it a useful ingredient.

In a possible response to keeping funds in the Treasury, the Internal Revenue Service has changed the tax codes for mortgage interest. IRS publication 936 now divides home mortgages into three categories: 1.Home Acquisition Debt, 2. Refinanced Home Acquisition Debt & 3. Home Equity Debt. "In most cases, you will be able to deduct all of your home mortgage interest. Whether it is all deductible depends on the date you took out the mortgage, the amount of the mortgage, and your use of its proceeds", according to the IRS.

First of all, the IRS mandates interest only deductible for a qualified home in a secured loan. A secured loan basically includes a legal instrument such as a mortgage, deed of trust or land contract. The home must be used a collateral. In other words, only your first or second home qualifies. If you have vacation homes or rentals, check out the tax codes for specifics on the eligibility of those deductions. Wrap-around debts, also known as, seller financing are NOT secured unless "recorded or otherwise perfected under state law." Crunching the numbers: All mortgage interest for loans taken prior to October 1987 is fully deductible. But, for loans after 1987, the IRS shows, "The total amount you can treat as home acquisition debt (basically a mortgage) at any time on your main home and second home cannot be more than $1 million ($500,000 if married filing separately)."

If you refinance your mortgage, the second mortgage qualifies for the deduction only up to the value of the previous mortgagee at the time of refinancing. There is the reason why a home-equity loan could provide better tax relief if your previous mortgage is years old. The IRS limits the home equity debt deduction to the smaller of: $100,000 ($50,000 if married filing separately) or the total of each home's fair market value (FMV) reduced (but not below zero) by the amount of its home acquisition debt and grandfathered debt. Determine the FMV and the outstanding home acquisition and grandfathered debt for each home on the date that the last debt was secured by the home.

The IRS also has guidelines for mortgages not used for home acquisition or improvements if you meet certain guidelines. For example, if you are building a home and take out the mortgage before the work is completed.

2 cans cold water from the limeade container
1 slice fresh lime, for a garnish

Directions
Put all the ingredients into a blender and set on high.Pulse until all of the ingredients are of a smooth texture. Pour the mixture into a tall glass and add more ice if desired. Twist the fresh lime slice and top the drink with it.

Alcoholic version
Add a couple of shots of your favorite rum or vodka. Beware!

Fisherman's Warf Coconut Shrimp

Serves 6(2 shrimp per person) 12 jumbo raw shrimp,cleaned,peeled and butterflied
2 cups sweetened coconut
1 cup plain breadcrumbs
1 cup flour
2 eggs, whipped

Directions
Combine coconut and bread crumbs in a shallow dish
Put flour into a separate shallow dish
Put eggs into a separate shallow dish
Dip shrimp first into the flour, then egg mixture, then coconut and bread crumb mixture, coating well with each element
Put coated shrimp(no more than three at a time)into hot oil 350 degrees
Fry for four minutes, until golden brown,then remove and drain.

Serve with Cool Lime Dipping Sauce
(Makes 2 cups)
1-16 oz can prepared coconut milk
1/2 cup fresh squeezed lime juice
3-4 drops tabasco sauce
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 Tablespoon grated lime zest(for color)

Directions
Combine all of the ingredients into a blender, set on low and pulse until the mixture is combined. Chill until mixture is set and then stir in the grated lime peel.

One of my favorite recipes is shrimp marinated in soy sauce and lime juice, then grilled and stir-fryed with baby bok choy and fresh spinach.

Tanned Shrimp (Serves 4)
Into a large plastic Glad bag:
Pour 1-1/2 cups soy sauce
1/4 cup sesame oil
1/4 cup Mongolian fire oil
Add two pounds medium size fresh shrimp
1 Tablespoon shredded ginger
1 green onion, sliced thin
1-clove raw garlic, sliced thin

Chill the mixture for four hours, shrimp should absorb the marinade's dark color. Remove shrimp from the bag and grill on a stove top grill or electric grill for five minutes on each side. Into a pot of boiling salted water: Wilt(for 2 minutes) 2 lbs of baby bok choy then remove and drain Wilt(for 1 minute) 1 lb of fresh spinach, remove and drain In a large wok or heavy skillet add 1-Tablespoon peanut or canola oil and salt and cracked black pepper to taste Add shrimp,wilted baby bok choy, grilled shrimp and wilted spinach. Stir-fry the ingredients for five minutes and then serve over a mound of jasmine rice(2-cups water,1-cup rice)cook on medium low for 20 minutes.

A light and refreshing fresh lime juice and rice wine vinegar salad dressing is mixed and then the salad greens are tossed right into the bowl.

Rub a clove of garlic in a wooden or salad bowl, then add 1/2 cup canola, or peanut oil, 1/8th,cup rice wine vinegar, 1/8th, cup fresh squeezed lime juice=total 1/4 cup,add salt and cracked black pepper to taste. Let the salad dressing set for ten minutes and then add leafy green lettuce leaves, and shredded carrots(can be purchased pre-packaged)then toss until salad greens are coated with the salad dressing, A perfect ending to this refreshing meal is a dessert called Key Lime Snow from www.gourmetsleuth.com

2-envelopes unflavored gelatin
1/2 cup cold water
3/4 cup sugar
1-1/2 cup boiling water

Sprinkle unflavored gleatin over cold water in a large bowl and let stand for five minutes. Stir in sugar until blended. Add boiling water and stir until gelatin is completly dissolved, about three minutes.Add grated lime peel and lime juice. Chill until slightly thickened(about 15 minutes)Beat egg whites until stiff. While beating,gradually add gelatin mixture until soft peaks form. Spoon into eight individual dessert cups or one large serving bowl. Chill for two hours. Garnish with a twisted lime peel.

If the car is choosing different random lanes to pass the other cars, when it reaches you, you might get hit. Using your common sense will come in handy many times during your ride in traffic, so always make smart decisions.

Aggression helps in tough spots, so you have to use it if you want a good spot in busy traffic. There will be times when you are in a lane and need to get into another one, but the cars will not give you the space. You have to be aggressive if you want to get into the spot you need so that you do not miss your exit on the freeway. It will not be easy, but once you learn how to stand your ground, you will be able to get the spot you want in traffic.

You must always make yourself be seen in traffic, because if you do not, cars will not know your place on the freeway. Here is a great example, suppose you're riding your bike in front of a dump truck; these trucks are huge and drivers cannot see around them. If a car decides to pass this truck to get directly it front of it, it will not be able to see you because you are riding a bike. A bike is thin and the driver will not be able to see you until he or she gets ready to turn in front of the truck. To avoid this, never ride your bike near a vehicle that makes you unseen; this makes things easier for yourself and other drivers.

Never take risks no matter what other drivers may do to you while you are the freeway. Some drivers may honk their horn at you and you cannot avoid this, but you must not let them make you do something risky. They can honk their horn all they want; it is all bark and no bite so just wave your hand and let them go by.

City biking is not easy, but if you stay alert, use your common sense, be aggressive, be seen and avoid risks, you will be safe riding your bike on the freeway.

The beginner piano lesson is an exciting prospect, but it can be overwhelming as well.

The key is to keep things simple and take one step at a time.

Start with a good method book. This will present concepts one at a time and build on them.

Check your music store for piano instruction series. The staff at the store can recommend a particular method that is right for you.

If you are an adult beginner, there are adult piano methods, but it can be fun to use the children's versions. They are colorful with fun cartoon-type characters. Who says adults can't have fun? So feel free to bypass the stuffy adult piano course for the kids books.

These days the piano method books are available with a CD to play along with. Get one of those--it's a lot of fun! The simple melody you are playing sounds simply grand with a full orchestra behind you! Blast into space with the sound of a rocket and strike up the band with a march!

The CD features two version of each piece, with the piano playing and one without the piano solo line. In addition, there are usually two speeds, slow when you are learning the piece, and fast for when you have the notes down.

Don't feel like you need to rush through the books. Take your time and absorb the material fully.

Be sure to read the introductory material as well. That usually includes information about how to sit, how to hold your arms, and how far away from the piano you should be.

Many popular piano instructions series include companion books on different musical aspects, including music theory, piano technique, and solo pieces. All of them will help you learn more about playing the piano and music in general.

Your music store will probably also have piano instruction videos that you can purchase. Think of these as a teacher in a box.

You can play the video or DVD over and over, watch close-ups, and "schedule" your lesson at your convenience.

Once you have worked through book 1 and possibly book 2 of the piano instruction series you have chosen, you might also want to consider an on-line course. These are many on-line, and many are geared to particular styles of piano playing, including gospel music and jazz.

If you are fortunate enough to be taking private lessons, having a background of working through a piano method book will help you immensely to get more out of your lessons and make faster progress.

The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress

Of all the heavy bombers that flew in WWII, the B-17 Flying Fortress was without a doubt one of the two most famous, the other being the Lancaster. The prototype first flew in 1935 but it would be another five years before the B-17 was delivered in any quantity. They first saw action with the RAF in 1941. The first order filled by Boeing was for 39 B-17Bs with turbo-charged Wright Cyclone radial engines. The 17C followed with seven machine guns instead of the original five; this modification together with better armor and self-sealing tanks in the 17d resulted from lessons learned in the early bombing raids over Europe. The B-17E and 17F soon followed with a larger tail. The final version came out when head-on attacks by enemy fighters proved to be a definite problem, which the B-17G countered with a chin turret with dual machine guns. This gave the B-17 a defensive armament of 13 machine guns in all.

The Flying Fortress flew with a crew of ten in the 17G model. These were: Pilot, Co-pilot, Bombardier, Nose Gunner, Flight Engineer/Top Turret Gunner, Radio Operator/Gunner, Ball Turret Gunner, Right Waist Gunner, Left Waist Gunner and Tail Gunner.

The B-17 was a heavy aircraft weighing in at 36,000 lbs, with a maximum takeoff weight of 65,500 lbs. With a wing span of 103ft 9in, the length was 74ft 4in while the roof of the cockpit sat 19 feet above ground. The Fortress could operate at 35,800 feet although best operating altitude was in the 25,000 foot range where it could achieve its maximum speed of 287 mph. With a cruising speed of 182 mph, it could carry a 6000 lb bomb load with a range of 2,000 miles. Its maximum bomb load was actually about 17,000 lbs but this was with a minimum fuel load on a short-range raid.

The Flying Fortresses flew in defensive formations that presented an overall curtain of withering machine gun fire to enemy fighters. One German F-109 pilot who shot down 28 fighters but only four light bombers (not B-17s), said that he never returned from an attack on a formation of B-17s without numerous holes in the fuselage of his aircraft. Most of the bombers of any type downed by fighters were stragglers; those that could not maintain or regain their position in formation as a result of damage from flak encountered during their bombing runs.

Built mostly over 3 years from mid-1942 to mid-1945, these four engine heavy bombers once filled the skys. Workers across the US built a total of 12,731 B-17s. After the war, several dozen B-17s lived on as fire-bombers and aerial surveyors until the last one was retired in the 1970s. Today, a few B-17s have been restored to their wartime splendor. Eleven are currently flying in the United States, one in the UK and another one in France.

Keeping a B-17 flying these days is an expensive proposition. Someone once said that a B-17 operates on gas, oil and money. Especially money. A B-17 will easily burn 200 gallons of fuel per hour, plus about 10 gallons of oil per hour. Consumables and wear items cost an estimated $3,000 per flight hour. For each hour a Flying Fortress spends in the air, ten are spent on the ground in maintenance. An engine overhaul can cost $40,000 and FAA required wing-spar inspections and repairs will cost each Flying Fortress in excess of $100,000.

Consequently operating a B-17 is more than any one person can do. As a result, foundations own most of them, or museums set up specifically to keep the Flying Fortress in the air. These organizations are partly funded by corporate donations and air show fees, but most depend on touring. A B-17 tour will take the Flying Fortress from city to city across the USA and Canada, where she will be on display for tours and a lucky few have a chance to take a flight on the B-17. If you hear that a B-17 tour is stopping in your city, please do go check it out, contribute a few dollars and consider taking a B-17 flight. You'll find it will be the thrill of a lifetime. Excellent Places to Hike Around Las Vegas

Travel to Las Vegas and you'll likely hear plenty about nearby attractions like the Grand Canyon, the Hoover Dam, and Lake Mead. There are even places right on the Strip where you can take part in guided tours of these places. These highly publicized attractions are well worth it and have many interesting sights and are great ways to escape the lights of Vegas. But in addition to these high traffic tourist spots, there are a couple of not so highly publicized areas that are well worth your time, and cost no more than a rental car and a camera.

Red Rock Canyon is located about 15 miles west of the Strip. It is just outside of the city - you can take Charleston Boulevard all the way there. Charleston crosses the strip just north of the Stratosphere. Hop on Charleston and go west. Once you pass Red Rock Casino and Highway 215, you're almost there.

When you first get to Red Rock, there is a visitor's center where you can get out and check out some of the history of the canyon. You can learn about the Native American's who first lived in the area as well as the animals and plants that populate the canyon.

The canyon itself is made up of red sandstone which is very striking in color when the sun bounces off the canyon walls. There are numerous hiking trails that you can stop and hike. They range from easy to difficult. The canyon is also popular to rock climbers, who can often be seen scaling the cliffs and rocks of the area.

From the visitors center you can take the scenic loop, which is a 13 mile loop that winds its way through the canyon with numerous places to stop to either hike or take pictures. One of the stops along the loop is the Ice Box Canyon trail which is a two mile moderately difficult hike that includes some rock scrambling. This trail works it's way back into a canyon which is known for the cooler winds that blow through the rocks. While hiking be sure to look up the canyon walls as you can often see the climbers scrambling up their lines.

Along with the desert vegetation you're likely to see different animals in the conservation area. Bighorn sheep and deer accompany the wild burros that roam the land. The burros are rather tame and will often come up to car windows looking for food - though it is recommended not to feed them as this increases their independence on the tourists of the area. A picture of a burro sticking his head in your car window is often a great picture to share with friends back home.

The great thing about Red Rock is that you can see the sights without ever leaving the air conditioning of your car - or if you're feeling a little adventurous you can venture out on one of the trails and make your way a little off the beaten path. Even though you are just outside the sprawling city of Las Vegas, a trip to Red Rock is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city - a great way to take a vacation inside your vacation.
